I’m starting to give up on the prospect that shortbow will return to it’s former glory. So can we at least get the range to 1000? I don’t see that as unreasonable, since the engineer rifle is 1000 range.

I wondered why they didn’t make it 1000 when they lowered it, at least it still made sense that a ranger would have more range with a short bow. 900 is just a kick in the nuts.

Expect more shortbow nerfs whenever longbow needs buffs. Babause that’s how you buff a weapon, by nerfing other weapons
Melee shortbow is something i always wanted :P

The range system in regard of ranged weapons needs an overall overhaul ..

This is how I think ranges should be scaled in GW2:

Short Bow:
Untraited: 1000
Traited: 1250

Pistol:
Untraited: 900
Traited: 1400, but needs to build up over time Range Stacks via Critical Hits. +100 Range on every 5 Critical Hits, so 25 Critical Hits would be neededcfirst to max the Range of the Pistol temporarely

Rifle
Untraited: 1500
Traited: 2000

Longbow:
Untraited: 1250
Traited: 1750, but needs to build up Range via Critical Hits, +100 Range on every 5 Critical Hits

Thrown Axes:
Range: 600

Thrown Daggers:
Range: 600

Alot of KSilsl in GW2 have too much range, especially seen in WvW, whiile defending on the walls, how far into the keeps people can cast their aoE skilsl that you basically can’t defend anything on the walls, because of permanently standign in any enemy aoes that get placed everywhere.

The only class that should be able to attack enemies on walls should be rangers using barrage as they are the only class with a weapon that has the functionality and the range to attack with it enemies, that stand on a higher place and where the projectile can be shot in siuch a way, that it can hit also targets on the walls by the arrows falling down after a while into their targets, where straight shot pistol/rifle bullets won’t do that and by that should be only able to hit enemies on walls in a straight line of sight matter if they are in range for a hit.

i do hope, that rebalancing the range system of GW2 will come sonn anywhen in regard of another class/skill balance update, that this game absolutely needs.

Best solution, start playing melee ranger. You’ll see better numbers.

Shortbow on Ranger isn’t very good anyway, Sword/Warhorn is where it’s at.
