I feel that the ranger shouts could be made to be a little more interesting for PvP. The pet could be used to counter certain playstyles to make the ranger more of a counter-based class to make them more unique. Here are some examples that may or may not be good.

Protect Me: Have there be some kind of penalty for attacking the player. I know the pet absorbs damage, but I feel that it should also encourage enemies to attack the pet instead of the player. One idea of a penalty could be for instance having the pet give the ranger Retaliation until the pet is dead. Or maybe something that buffs the ranger, like having the ranger absorb some of the damage to heal him/herself whe he/she gets attacked. I dunno.

Guard: This could be changed to be the anti-stealth ability. The idea would be to place the pet in an area to keep stealthed enemies from going through it. So maybe the pet could see enemies as though they aren’t stealthed, and if they hit an enemy it unstealths them and applies Revealed on them. Though given this change you may have to make it so that the pet doesn’t go invisible so that stealthed players can see the pet. The pet should probably keep the protection buff, though so they have something against non-stealthed players.

Sic Em: With the Guard change this ability would obviously have to lose the anti-stealth. I think this ability should be used to temporarily disable a target.. So maybe it can apply a Daze and also maybe Torment as well. So that they do have the option of running but if they do it hurts them and so they need to decide how to deal with the situation. Though with this added you might want to nerf something, like change the damage increase to 25% or something.

Search and rescue: This ability could be the new stealthed ability. It would be cool to have a stealth rez. Although there needs to be a debuff put on the pet for the duration of the stealth. For instance maybe it puts stacks of vulnerability on itself so that AoE damage tears through the pet.

And to make the abilities easier to deal with, there would probably be some sort of symbol or something that appears over the ranger’s head that shows either that they have activated a shout, or have a symbol over their head depending on what shout that was used. I like the idea of having just 1 symbol and making the enemies figure out which shout was used.
