Re-skin HoM weapons
Most of ‘em aren’t bad. DARKENED? The Fellblade, perhaps. It’s “supposed” to look kinda evil, hence the name. And it is BIG, but still not as ungainly huge as many others in this game. But most weapons in the game have dingy gray metal. Darned few have nice, shiny blades. I’m all for the shiny HoM axe. And why is the longbow gray? Most wood should be wood-colored I’m thinkin’. Gray wood is rotted. For the most part, the items that carried directly over from GW1 look pretty true though.
If anything, the armors are a bit of a disappointment for me. Don’t care for the light at all. The Medium would be nice except for the TAIL. WHY does everything in GW2 have to have a skirt or a tail? The Heavy Plate armor is real good. Almost ALL shoulder armors are WAY oversized.
But don’t look for them to change, or then there will be people crying in righteous outrage who DID like them as-as (and who ALSO put in a lot of effort). After all, looks are a matter of taste. In time, as they add more armor and weapons, there will hopefully be something out there for everybody.

I wish the longbow skin was the Stormbow from GW. Looked much better than the Ithas bow. If they changed it they could use Ithas skin for Shortbow and get rid of that aweful living shortbow.
Valid point, I’m surprised the HoM skins weren’t made iconic skins from GW1. Come to think of it, the fellblade is the only weapon that made a return as a skin. The VS made a return as a weapon, but most people don’t even know it exists. I’d like to say making it a HoM skin would make it more known, but it’s a tad late for that.
The Fellblade, the Fiery Dragon Sword, The Deldrimor Mace, The Icebreaker, The Stygian Axe, and the Diamond Aegis Shield were all in GW1. The HoM skins are pretty close to the originals.

While I wouldn’t mind seeing different HoM weapons instead (Stormbow being one of them), I am happy with what they are.
Changing them now would end up upsetting a lot of players who actually do like those skins. They worked hard for those skins, and now you want to change them into something else they may not like? That would be a horrible business decision.
They’ve already changed a few items completely in game because they didn’t like the look, and they did this after people had already spent the money/karma on them for the previous look they had (Heavy Orrian Karma armor and the Asuran Cultural armor for example). This upset a lot of players and Anet received a lot of hate for changing stuff that players already spent money on. Especially when those players bought these items for the original look, not the new one it was changed to.
If they changed the skins in the HoM, you’d have a lot of upset players who worked hard for those skins and are now having their weapons changed to something they didn’t want.
From reading the forums here, Anet seems to be on thin ice with the players right now and this would just add to the rage. So while I wouldn’t mind seeing new skins from GW1, let’s not replace skins that people already worked hard for. I’d rather them introduce classic skins to the gem store like they did with the Tyrian, Profane, and Primeval skins.

As of right now though i believe most will agree that the scepter, staff, Icebreaker and some other skins need to be redone because they are bad. Also since no one uses most of the skins anyways i think remaking them to make them more appealing won’t cause to much harm. People will probably actually use the skins if they are redone. Also i don’t believe they purposely made the weapons look old (to be honest i dont even see them as looking old)and if they did make them to appear old they still could have made them look better.
Also i am not asking to replace. I am just asking to add too. For example i assume you have seen the icebreaker image. It is a darker blue with floating ice around it. It looks cool. But look at what you get in game. Compared to the image the icebreaker in game looks like crap. Just like the fel-blade the image looks cool but what you get is totally different. It appears as if some of you are mistaking re-make for take out. Or maybe i am using the word wrong.
All i am simply saying is that they should make the weapon more like the images in the picture. Simply to add better effects and colors. Not to take out anything.

Oh right, FDS too. Besides those I don’t really think anything else looks like the GW1 counterpart. Not really sure why the fellblade suddenly became a 2h sword either, I know they needed something since 2h’s weren’t in GW1, but I like to think it would have been interesting to see a scythe make an appearance as a 2h skin.
The daggers are some of my favorite in the game. However the scepter looks really bad in comparison to the gw1 skin. It was my all time favorite along with the tormented staff. I wish the scepter looked more like the original

Horrible idea. I wont mind seeing the stormbow again, although it wasn’t thaat good. But put in, in another way, don’t change HoM. And you want to change the shortbow? Hell no! I love that skin more than anything else in the HoM, that was one of the only weapons I cared about while working on it all. And yes, I do use it.
The shortbow resembles the Dryad bow from GW1 btw.
As a matter of fact I use the daggers on my norn ele, they suit her perfectly. I use the fellblade on my sylvari mesmer again, this looks great to me.
Chaning something people already got and use is a rather bad idea I think. I understand OP is only for a bit of color and effect change, which may seem kinda harmless and as an improvement. But even tiny changes can make some people angry.
Would be nice if the HoM items in GW2 were improved a bit, yes, like the Fell Blade. The GW1 Fell Blade had a much better animation while I barely notice the clouds on the GW2 Fell Blade, but that’s not what saddens me the most.
Who here has never encountered clipping issues with the Icelord’s Diadem?*
Who here has never encountered clipping issues with the Baroque Mask?*
Who here has never had their hands clip through the Heavenly Bracers?
*Doesn’t count if you made your character bald.
Why is the new skin for the Rainbow Jellyfish the same exact skin for the Green Jellyfish? It also used to be quite similar to the Blue Jellyfish. I replied to that thread on the ranger forums too, didn’t know we were getting a freaking Green Jellyfish instead of one that previously looked exactly like the Blue Jellyfish. Was expecting some kind of cool glowing animation that Jon Peters spoke of, but nope, it’s a freaking Green Jellyfish.
Also the Chimeric Prism looks.. bad, nothing like the GW1 version.
