WvW appears to be ready for 2 week matches. The tiers have largely stabilized. Culling is fixed and the meta has developed.

Reset night is fun, but it does create massive queues (at least in the higher tiers) for hours on one of two weekend nights when most people are free to play. One weekend without reset would lessen queues.

2 weeks matches would also create a longer horizon for strategy and fighting. WvW is ready for new challenges.

2 weeks? We fight our match now for 6 weeks and the 7th will start soon, and an end (change) of the match is not in sight, what do you mean with 2 week matches, I guess we will fight our match forever. (And with mostly the same outcome.)

Yeah I’d say no to two week matches. Most of them (all?) are over by Tuesday.

There’s very little movement between tiers. I’d have to say that matches are more than 2 weeks at this point.

Ummm. No. Two week matches would be terrible for the game.

I actually rather hope we get back to the 2 week matches that were originally intended. As long as the Glicko2 problems are solved in the interim.

Eh..no, 2 week matches would be worse. Most tier matches are over in 3-4 days, where by it’s just a punishing waiting game for reset.

The rating system isn’t being used properly either.

People want matches half as long, not twice as long.

Completely disagree. Think about how long it took KN to move from t8 to t2. The Glicko algorithm still operates exactly the same as it did back then. If another super server were to form, it would take TWICE as long for them to move up. Right now the tiers are pretty stale without a lot of mixing, 2 weeks matches would cut the already slow progress in half.

I think Anet would have to change their ranking system before they do this. I can’t imagine battling the same servers fro 6 months without any up or down in the lboards.
Personally, I would like to see two week matches. I wonder if that additional week can help a server rally from last place and place numero uno.

I think a few matchups have stabilised enough for this, but not all/ TC/FA/KN could totally start doing 2-week matchups, imho.

I think we all noticed now that Glicko-2 for ranking combined with Match-making based on Ranking leaded to stagnation of matches and ranking be fall apart into sub-rankings per tier.

Some proposed week for week winner goes up and looser goes down. I would support that for the necessary decoupling of ranking and match-making, but I also think that this mixes up matches to much, 2/3 of all server would switch tiers every week.

If I understand this thread as a proposal for winner goes up and looser goes down every second week, it would be better.

But I think there is an even better solution:
In uneven weeks the looser of T1 switches with the winner of T2, the looser of T3 switches with the winner of T4, …
In even weeks the looser of T2 switches with the winner of T3, the looser of T4 switches with the winner of T5, …
Watched from the perspective of a tier this means: in one week the winner goes up and in the other week the looser goes down. 2 of the 3 server stay.

The matches would have more stability than with both winner and looser going up/down and would still be different from week to week.
