First off, I am terribly sorry if this is an existing thread. I did my best to look for this topic but did not find anything.

I am not here to complain about having to align with an order in the story line or to say I was unaware the decision was final. I have enjoyed my order’s story thus far and have no problem with it. However, I was unaware at the time of my decision that each order had its own level 80 armor set. I absolutely understand that to realign with an order would affect your story line. Therefore, I am not asking that it be possible until the main story line is completed. Giving those of us who would like a different order’s armor set the ability to purchase it.

Alternatively, if there were a way to purchase a different order’s set without having to realign that would be great. An outside order’s set could cost more, or require that you get rid if your existing order’s set or have some other consequence for wanting an armor set outside of your own order.

Weather it be realignment or a heavier price, I would really appreciate it if there were a way to purchase a different order’s armor set at level 80. Thank you!

Not sure how far you are, but a nice solution would be to just let us get any order set, because of events later on in the game
There’s a way around this problem, but it costs 2 fine trans stones. Get a character of the order armor you want, and your ‘main’. Buy the armor from the order vendor while they’re in the order, then transmute it onto a ‘white’ rarity armor. This makes it account bound, while still keeping the appearance. Switch to your ‘main’, and transmute the account bound order armor onto whatever you want

it is 2 fine transmutation stone for each piece of armor… but as the story we play in the game suggest we should really have the possibility to get each order armor according to me…

I think a pact armor set would be a tidier solution than opening all order sets to all characters. It would have to be priced substantially higher than the order sets, or else use a token system as the weapons do. Possibly increase the number of victory tokens granted upon story completion to six? This would allow players to pick between a full set of armor, a full set of weapons (for those who can weapon swap), or some combination thereof.

The technical problem with order realignment is the same as the problem with allowing people to re-customize their races. A lot of the story content is dependent upon the choices you’ve made, and it would be difficult to allow people to re-customize their story choices in a succinct manner.

Not to be callous, but I’m a little confused as to how you didn’t realize you were selecting your order affiliation. Most of my characters are human, but both Logan and Zojja make a big deal out of the fact that you’re making an irreversible choice in their respective cutscenes prior to the decision, and I have to assume the same is true of other racial mentors. The first time I made it to that point, I remember being pleasantly surprised at how clearly stated it was.

Finally, as Mystic Starfish indicated, you can always transmute order armor (or any soulbound armor) onto white-quality armor in order to trade it among characters. This will obviously necessitate ownership of 12+ fine transmutation stones and a second character high enough to have membership in an order. This seems like the most direct solution for your problem.

You can actually get all 3 order sets. Here’s how I did it (and yes, it still works):

-level 2 alts to level 24-26
-join the orders
-buy the sets you want on your alts
-buy white quality gear from LA vendors (on your alt)
-transmute order armor onto white vendor gear
-trade it to your main character via bank

Voila! now you have all order sets.

Being able to buy other orders’ armors would be silly. The armors are essentially the “uniform” of the order, why would they ever want to sell it to other people? Do armies go around selling their uniforms to random citizens? The armor / weapons are pretty much the only thing about the order that “matter” once the storyline is done, so I definately don’t agree with just throwing all point of the choice away and letting you grab everything.

I really don’t see how you could be unaware the decision was final, considering your mentor flat-out tells you “Choose carefully, because whichever you pick to work with will be the one you permanently join”. If you don’t pay attention to what the game tells you (or assume its just an exaggeration and you’ll be able to switch anyway) then you can’t really complain about that.

First off, I guess my wording was unclear… “I am NOT here to complain about having to align with an order in the story line or to say I was unaware the decision was final.” meaning, I was 100% aware the decision was final. What I said in my original post was “I was unaware at the time of my decision that each order had its own level 80 armor set.” My concern was solely with the armor set.

That being said, thank you to those of you who actually made a suggested or responded with why you disagree. I totally understand being able to buy a different order’s amor wouldn’t make sense, hence the suggestion for realignment. But again, I understand why that wouldn’t work.

SO, Thank you again for the transmuting suggestion Starfish, Amadan, Blueshield, and Twill. I will consider that!
