Guild Wars 2

There are a lot of items in this game that are bind on acquire (BoA). Now, I understand the reasoning behind making some items BoA, like quest items for hearts and dynamic events. However, there are many BoA items in the game that restrict players and are more of an annoyance than an they should be.

For example, every mystic item Myani sells is BoA. What’s the point? As soon as you use those items in the forge to create something, whatever you created is either Bind on Use (BoU), account bound, or not bound at all (with the exception of siege weapon blueprints, which will become account bound in an upcoming patch).

Another example is the Letter of Commendation. All it does is give influence to the guild you are currently representing. Is there really a reason for it to be soulbound? If put it in the bank to use it later, do I really need to log on to the character that obtained it just to use it?

When looking at your items in your bank, if something is soulbound to another character, that’s all you are told. It would be nice to know which character an item is soulbound to so we aren’t forced to figure it out through trial and error.

You could say that this is an almost trivial problem, if it’s even a problem at all. It’s more of a nuisance and in a game like Guild Wars 2 where so many things are done exceptionally well, there are still a lot small things that need to be fixed; this is just one of them.
