Arenanet I would like to have my laurels refunded back to me. I wasted 30 laurels on that ascended neck piece in pve. HAD I had a choice back then, I would not of bought from the PVE laurel merchant. I feel cheated out of 10 laurels. I suggest you guys refund our wasted laurels or give us the option to purchase wvw ascendeds at a lower cost.

I am in similar situation. I have bought 2 ring with same name and i cant equip both. I cant belive i have wasted 35 laurels because of that.

I actually would like a comment on this, it’s not a totally unreasonable request. If you wish to refund wxp points for arrow carts then why not for this as well? I’ll trade 250 badges for 10 laurels.

Did you contact support? They exchanged items for another one in cases people didn’t understand the meaning of unique in the past.

Good luck, I hope they didn’t change their attitude towards this. Try seaching the forums for a reference case in case they don’t want to help you.

I’d probably be more interested in trading laurels for badges (not a regular WvWer), but I get what you’re saying. Honestly, if Laurels were more like zcoins in that they didn’t give anything that could not be attained elsewhere (even if elsewhere is just someone selling it on the TP) people wouldn’t care as much. But since nearly everything in the game of any genuine worth is bound, Laurels are not a bonus but a requirement. I feel kind of chained by the things because of this. I would probably be willing to skip dailies once in a while if we were given some other avenue to get them or the laurel exclusive items. The freedom to choose how I spend my time in game would go a long way to making it a more enjoyable experience.

An enjoyable experience is the goal of the game, right? Some of these design decisions make me wonder.

Every single vendor in these games needs to be able to buy back the items he sells for the exact cost of what he sells them for. This would solve so many of these problems, I’m wondering why this isn’t a standard feature in these games.

Given time, they will probably implement a timer system for mistaken purchases. Just as WoW did purely to help alleviate customer service request. Obviously how ever they will never buy back extended purchases. It is a purchase after all, not a rental.

Couldn’t we get a refund out of these expensive 30 laurels amulets we bought? We can now have them with 20 laurels and 250 badges, and while i can get 250 badges in one day, i must wait 10 to get 10 laurels. I feel bad when people said “ouch 30 laurels for an amulet that’s expensive” and i answered “yep, but there’s no other way to have it…” That was kinda unfair imo not to have informed us there was gonna be a less laurel costing way to buy amulets when they came out.
I’d like a merchant detecting 30-laurels bought amulets allowing you to buy the same amulet (including infusion) + 10 laurels at the price of: the amulet + 250 badges.
Of course, same problem for those (rarer but still present) who bought ascended rings with laurels.

No game I know of has offered refunds just because a new purchase method was implemented that some people thought was a better deal. Clearly you were more then fine with dropping 30 lurals at the time.

When people aren’t smart enough to read first, before they buy things, then this is just their punishment for not being smart enough to learn first, what the term UNIQUE means in GW2, that you can wear unique items only ONCE per character and that this, if a smart person can count 1+1 together naturally has to mean automatically, that buying an uniqiue item for a character 2 times means wasting laurels!!

OMG, this is absolutely not the first thread of this kind of angry reaction, cause of people being too stupid to read first about what they buy…

When will people finally get it, that Anet will never refund anything like laurels, only because of people not being intelligent enough to read first, before they buy??

This kind of suggestion is like the same thing, as like saying, Anet should refund given out Gold, because someone bought something, that a character can’t wear, ignoring the fact that the Anet clearly stated from begin on, that GW2 will have 3 different armor types and in the game from begin on, players get shown with red texts, if some armor can’t be used with a specific class type, later out of these stupidity problems of people being unable to read, anet changed even all armor icons by addign just everywhere red attention marks (!) to show people, if an item could be used with a specific character, or not …

Wow, sorry, if I surely sound now harsh ‘n’ rude here now, but these kinds of threads kind of kitten me off somehow…
What kind of “right” do certain people believe to have here, that they are thinking that they deserve to have the right to get their given out laurels/gold ect. back, when the situation their are in is CLEARLY ABSOLUTELY THEIR VERY OWN FAULT???

I don’t get it, what these kind of people are thinking and in which kind of “reality” they seem to live in … seems to be some kind of other parallel world, where right and wrong seem to be total different >.>

I agree with this idea. The first time I bought a infusion, it was the wrong one.

What are you talking about? is a game if i need to go on the wiki or on follow a guide for every item that i buy i lose part of the fun, i play for some carefree moments.

Anyway i could cite a definition from the study, according to Reason, of interfaces and errors related to them that would remove any doubt, but i have to find it and is boring.
