Does GW2 really need to be the only mmog not providing an AutoReject Guild Invites?

The constant harassment and spam from masonic overlords in Tarnished Coast is ridiculously annoying. Why would ArenaNet allow a guild to literately harass their fans and customers hundreds to thousands of times, with pathetic unwanted spam.

I don’t see any benefit to AreaNet allowing their fans and customers to be harassed.

It’s a slippery slope. Once you start adding features that other game has, you’ll eventually turn into that other game, and then… diabetes. Perhaps the guild invite dialogue is more of this mysterious anti-botting code?

How often is this an issue and for how many people? If you have the same person sending multiple invitations, that’s spam and should be reported as such. If it’s a variety of invites from the different people in the same guild, join for 2 minutes to find out the leader’s name and ask them to stop blind recruiting.

If it’s a lot of different people from a lot of different guilds, then chalk it down to people being unclear about smart recruitment tactics and cut them some slack. Or, if you want to stop the invites, spend 1s and create your own guild.

If you are not in a guild I would suggest you pay the silver to make a guild of 1 so you can have a guild tag which stops unwanted invites usually

For me it´s a real valid question and put good ideas from other games will not turn this the other game, it will just make this game better.

I don´t want to spend my silver just for someone stop annoying me. It´s ANET job to stop annoying players/guilds.

Afaik it turns out it’s an issue with the game design. Every time I logged in on any 4 of my toons, I got this Accept or Ignore popup in my top left UI. I had to Ignore this kitten thing hundreds of times, at Every Login. Believing it was some sort of Auto Spam Invites, like those Gold Spam emails we were getting the first couple of months.

Turns out to be a design issue, even though we are technically ignoring these invites, it NEVER goes away until you go into your Guild tab and officially decline it. Naturally there’s no explanation for this, kitten it.

So in closing thanks to all for the helpful suggestions and tips.

Guess the only thing to do is just live with the fact that we all are either going to have be aware of this or live with the idea/perception of constantly receiving guild spam.

There should be an option to block guild requests.
But what Krosslite said could be a good walkaround for the time being though.

Guild recruiting should be limited to a forum section, a web application in the official site and an in-game search tool, not allowing in-game spam.

And yeah, people should be able to enable auto-reject invivites. Specially those whoa already have a guild and are not planning on joining any more guilds.

IF you are already on a guild jsut represent them with every character. You will not receive this kitten.
