Remove defiant
Yeah, this is a something a lot of us agree on. The current implementation of Defiant makes any kind of CC build completely pointless.
but just removing it would make bosses easy to perma cc, you might want to flesh out your suggestion more

I think remove defiant make bosses useless.
Think 10 or more players chain CC on boss all time… The dificulty could be 0.
Defiant are a good and brilhant skill for increase challenge and fun.
No, Defiant is a broken skill, and it removes challenge and fun factor. It eliminates an essential game mechanic from boss fights, and reduces it to just DPS.
I think they should change the way Defiant works. Make it a boon that you can remove, or a buff that lasts only a few seconds. But don’t make it scale based on the number of players nearby. In any large event, this means the boss has 30+ defiant, and is impossible to CC. It’s a flawed idea.
I would be fine with a boss having a few seconds of Defiant each time it is hit by a CC skill. And if it could be removed like a boon, we’d finally see more use for boon-removal in PVE.

The point of Defiant is to keep a mob of players from permastunning a boss. It does its job well don’t you think? If every player in the mob uses one CC, it will remove all the stacks and allow the boss to get hit. So all the players can CC as often as a single player can CC one normal enemy. The current suggestion of removing it will turn all boss fights into a snorefest, you have to modify your suggestion if you want a realistic chance at it being implemented.

Well, all players in a party doesn’t use CC abillities that often and if i am a hammer Mace/Mace warrior and my every 5th CC is effective that’s kitten, pure crap. As it is now, the only way you can play is doing dps and support your team with heals.

That sounds great. Atleast let us interupt attacks.
Defiance makes CC useless and anyone who says otherwise doesn’t actually use CC and only thinks about how it would work in theory in an ideal world where 25 players can coordinate perfectly with no communication.

He’s talking about bosses in open world probably, like meta events. Try being useful when they have 30 stacks of defiance, you feel like crap.
I don’t know but everyone is going zerkers, Arenanet have to do something to make other builds viable as well. Something that doesn’t make you feel useless.
The problem with Defiant is how it scales upward based on the number of players surrounding the boss (who might not even all be using CC skills!).
CC skills are mostly only useful if you can use them at the right time. Timing is very important. But the concept of having to peal down stacks of Defiant makes timing nearly impossible. There’s so much work involved in landing at least 1 CC skill, that you might as well not bother at all…. and that is exactly what everyone does. Defiant effectively makes CC skills useless, thus eliminating an essential strategic element from the game when fighting bosses.
Many bosses would be a lot more interesting to fight if CC skills were allowed. Plus it would level the playing field more, making it less in favor of just DPS/zerker builds, and allowing the other elements of the trinity to do their part.

I think they should make it so defiant degrades every 2 seconds or so, and additional stacks of defiant can be removed by more CC.
Well. What about boons then? they can be overpowered as well. 2-3 guardians in your party and they don’t have to sacrifice much damage to keep you all alive. Don’t really see why CC should be hated like that.

The players will chain CC all time and the boss do not will be able to even fight, move or react.
An example are am (one single) stunlock warrior spamming stun every 7s and raizing adrenaline with Axe5 or HB. He will able to solo the boss with 0 dificulty. And i am talking about one single warrior, now increase more 5 or 10 players CC boss all time.

Yeah. That’s why you change the bosses up so they can survive without defiant. Glass Cannoning bosses shouldn’t be our best defense, control and support should.
