Gems have a too proeminent position in the inventory.

When do I need to see how many gems I have? When I buy stuff on the gem store. And… that’s it.

When I’m on the gem store, I can see the number of gems I have on that screen. In big.

When I’m not on the gem store and I want to know how many gems I have, I have several options:
- I open the gem store
- I open my inventory and hover the + button
- I open my inventory and click the + button
- I open my inventory

That’s too many options for the number of times I’m actually using them. Ok, now I understand gems are what makes ArenaNet gain their actual money, so I understand the promotion. But then, put it where it’s relevant, aka in a place of choice in the wallet, in a place of choice in the gem store and in a place of choice in the + button popup (double the size there even if you want).

Also, the amount of gems rarely varies unlike gold or karma, or even laurels (are there a lot of people who buy/use gems more than once a day, every day?) and I don’t need to be kept up to date of the amount of gems I have at all times.

So maybe it’s present there so that we mentally compute the amount of gold we can get from the gems? Maybe it’s a reminder that the gem store exists, so that we don’t accidentally forget the gem store exists? No worries we will ever forget: any access to the TP reminds us that.

So please, please, remove the gems from the inventory: it’s a useless information and it has nothing to do with the inventory at all.

The thing is, Gems can also be used to expand personal inventory, right from the inventory screen. Same goes for the bank screen. If it were removed, it would make it a bit more difficult to keep track of how many gems you have when expanding your inventory slots. I’m pretty sure that’s why it was left that way.

Indeed, I forgot about that case as I’ve maxed out those a long time ago on all my main characters. Nonetheless you have a confirmation popup. Adding your total gem amount on the popup should be enough, with something like “This feature costs XXX gems. You currently have YYY gems. Are you sure you want to buy it?”.

So my point stays.

It’s one of your currencies and its with all the other currencies. It’s where it should be.

I would like to define which currencies actively display on the inventory. I want to see my Laurels, Karma and Gold, nothing else.
