People who can’t tend to call the opponent troll, scream something utterly incomprehensible
and finally result to personal insults.
I know there will be a lot of people arguing against this, and I would rather keep the bank and BLTC too, but the problem here is that a lot of PvE folks go to WvW just to use these services. This not only reserves a few extra spots (which I know is not a problem for majority of the servers) but also negates one of the major gold sinks aimed to combat inflation.
Alternative solution would be that: Every bank in WvW has a cooldown of 30 minutes before you can use them, after you entered the map. If you want a quick access, pay 1 badge of honor. (Which we all know are easy to come by for any active WvWer.)
So anyone actually doing WvW would get bank access for free (since they most certainly stay there for longer than 30 minutes) or just needs to give one of their hundreds or thousands of badges for quick access.
Also, if the badge had a collectible slot in the bank, it could be taken from inside the bank instead of the bag, in case the player has deposited them all.
Just my 2 cents, every PvEr is of course free to argue against losing their free bank.
that is a really bad idea -1
Well, this quote is from another thread, but yeah:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Move-The-Bank-in-WvW/first#post1511788
i use WvW for the bank and TP only but sometime the bank in not there and it keeps moving why cant it just stay in the this same area forever and it would save travelling back and forward to the bank and TP because there always in different areas
Figured you wouldn’t like it.
Actually, I spend most of my time in WvW, and would argue against. Here’s why:
Considering I’ve levelled 3 of my alts primarily in WvW, does it make any logical sense
to penalize my efforts in keeping my equipment somewhat proper? Let’s be honest here, Invader EQ is one spec type (P/V/T). Sure, it does the job, but what if I’d rather go Condition or Crit-heavy? With most WvW drops being rather meh, plus the expenses of repairs/siege, let alone the $ gain-to-$ loss ratio being far more troublesome than in PvE … I’m sure you see the point. BLTC allows for the ability to quickly re-spec EQ for one’s intended combat style and purpose. Anyone should be allowed to utilize that. Who knows, that random PvE’er may join the chaos, and love it?
As for the bank, a similar argument from the other side of the coin. Who’s to say that random uplevel may not be an alt of a tricked-out 80? Removing bank access then
screws them over for swapping out EQ their higher-level alts find, cannot use, and
would then place on the lowbie alt. Gods know I’ve done that one plenty of times.
Let alone that this screws one’s efforts to put a bit o’ loot on the lowbie from one’s main.
To be honest, I’m not quite sure whether you read the entire post or not. You wouldn’t really lose BLTC nor Bank access, it would just be available out of spawn (which is the case with EB bank already).
Or the alternate suggestion was having a short cooldown after you enter the map.
I read it, but still have an issue with the idea. A c/d stops one from jumping in, slappin their kit together and getting to biz. Regarding badges, let’s be honest here. Badge droprate is an extremely variable thing. Also, if one’s planning Legendary at some point, that’s a good 500 they need stashed. As for out-of-spawn, why not have Bank/BLTC near your crafters in your BL? Hell, you’re using the crafters most WvW nights for the Crafting Daily … why not keep things centralized?

Well, which do you think is worse: Inflation, or minor inconvenience?
I do a lot of WvW, but I haven’t found it necessary to visit the bank every time I join the map. Actually, I might need to visit the bank after 3 hours of active WvW, but rarely any sooner.
Needing the bank or BLTC at the beginning of my shift is extremely rare (At least for me).

Is this seriously a thing? I know that guy does it, but is this actually wide spread enough to be an issue? This seems like an absurd effort. For one thing, if I want to go to the bank I don’t want to wait to queue for it. Secondly, if I don’t have to queue I’m not interfering with anyone.
Seriously though, WP isn’t a major gold sink, it’s an increadibly minor one, which is why it’s silly not to use it. But if I’m feeling too cheap to pay, the 3 silver max it might cost me, I just go to PvP, walk forward and I’m in LA where the bank and BLTC are not far apart.
Well, seen as there aren’t many gold sinks to begin with, WP cost is one of the “major” gold sinks. (Others are when you are selling items at BLTC or when you die. Then there are some minor gold sinks related to consumables you need to buy from the merchants in order to, for example, salvage stuff. Of course, this depends on what you consider to be a gold sink.)
Of course, I do not have any hard data on how many gold pieces rightfully belonging to the drain have evaded the sink using this trick, but I suppose its a couple of hundred a day.
