Agreed, it adds nothing. Just a gimmick mechanic. Any depth it adds is marginal and could be carried out more effectively by instituting a direct healer class so that combat isn’t black and white, but includes pressure, individual roles, and more complex situations to make use of existing and future skill depth. Regardless, i feel it doesn’t add anything. It feels like it shouldn’t even be in the game. It seems like a boo-boo band-aid for the lack of trinity and need of group synergy in the skill system.

Downed state needs to be improved, not removed.

Your frustration and subjective thoughts on game design doesn’t make removal valid.

Yea I agree. Downed state in general is pretty corny. Seems to me that it serves as an excuse for having no trinity system..to somehow keep you in the fight as if you can actually revive quick enough to avoid being finished off. Maybe it was added to generate suspense while fighting multiple mobs so you can make the goal of spamming 1 hoping to get a kill before your dead? Who knows really… just a bad mechanic in my opinion.

I dont mind the downed system, but rather the ‘revive on killing another player’ mechanic, and the rediculously quick friendly healing. Which makes 1v2, 2v3, and 3v4 engagements even more one-sided than they need be.

Remove kill reviving and half the friendly healing rate in spvp and I reckon you’re gold.

I agree with removing the revive on kill in PvP, but not the healing. 2v1 fights are supposed to be in favour of the larger team and this mechanic helps that. If the 2 man team is coordinated, they SHOULD be able to beat 1 player, even if that player manages to down one of them.

Personally I like the mechanic, in all areas of the game, so I vote against removing it. But I do vote for removing revive on kill in PvP and WvW.

Simplicity is complex.

Good feedback is key to getting the developers to listen to you.

It does feel slow with it how it is, but I don’t think removing it would really fix it so much as throw it to the other extremity.

I think downed state being there has something to do with lack of trinity. Could very well become (even more of?) a spikefest without downed. Downed state existing is OK, could as said use some patching up.
