I play a Norn male character with full height and massive build. With this stature I’m required to almost look straight down at the ground in order to see my target and the surrounding area during combat. I think if the camera pivot point was higher off the ground I would be able to look forward and actually still see the ground in front of my character. As an added bonus I may actually get to see the sky for once. I didn’t even realize how great the sky looked until I was level 80 and took the time to mess around and look straight up.

This camera issue may also be why combat feels a bit off to me. I never feel like I’m looking forward. I always feel like I have to look straight down at the area immediately in front of my feet.

I also think an object coming between my character and the camera SHOULD NOT zoom the camera in. It’s almost like there is a solid invisible beam between my character and the camera and if anything trips it the camera is doing a whacky zoom in zoom out dance. It’s ridiculous. If you want to test it walk in front of a small plant ot a stick or something and put it between your character and the camera and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

I made a video to explain where the camera is positioned and how I think I should be able to aim it. The second half when I’m looking straight forward I think if the pivot point was raised up above his head (Like another MMO I won’t name.) it would give a better view of combat while actually letting you see the game world and not the dirt in front of you. Also I entered into combat as an example that looking forward is not a viable option for combat as you can’t see your target anymore.
