Sea of Sorrows

Was JUST chatting with people in general chat in a zone after reporting about about this idea and people said it would be cool.
After 10 confirmed reports of bots, you get in your mail from Anet a skin for a cop hat.
After 50 confirmed reports you get cop shirt
after 100 confirmed reports you get cop pants.
A whole set so you can switch to that gear watch someone you suspect of botting. Once you think they are, send them a whisper “You are under arrest! reported for botting!”
One response to this idea was “AMEN TO THAT BROTHER! COPS IN GW2”
As for RMT in chat, well, that would require a higher count. Say 5 of those = a bot report?
I dont know…. I just thought it would be cool. And its just a skin, doesnt hurt anything.
Thanks!
Really … there is no need to do that. People already report bots for free , people will always report bots for free.
Fact is , most players hate botters for getting the easy way while others got “work hard” to get them.
true…just thought it would be something fun =D
I don’t play enough to know the extent of the bot problem. If it’s a big problem, your reward system may help, OP. However, I would also add a penalty system if enough people successfully repeal the bans you report for lack of evidence. I think fair penalty is necessary to ensure people don’t let the reward overwrite their judgment. Of course, this will involves ANet’s detailing, in writing, exactly what someone needs to justify reporting another.
Such caution is good even without a reward system as I’ve already seen some threads about people claiming they’ve been unjustly banned for botting.
Given that some players are already banned for botting when they aren’t bots, HELL NO.
Given that some people like rewards and don’t care if they earn them ethically or not, HELL NO.
If ANet offers rewards for reporting bots or RMT spammers you will see people reporting whoever they see, knowing that ANet can’t check it out for at least 2 weeks due to too small a workforce.
No, no, no, no, no, and 10,000 times no on top of that.
