Rit class pls :)
I REALY doubt new classes will be added in GW2, new races maybe.
Guardian (spirit weapons), Engineer (turrets) or Ranger (spirits) are the closest you can be from GW1 rit.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I remember developers sad that if they add a new class it would be heavy.
I remember devs saying they feel they’ve covered all the major bases with the 7 classes we have. They’d rather add new skills and traits for the existing classes than add new ones for the sake of a new class.
[TTBH] [HATE], Yak’s Bend(NA)
In the year 1426 of the Dynastic Reckoning Empress Verona of Elona (blessed be her name) outlawed the summoning of spirits as being unclean and an abomination of nature and so began the Great Inquisition. Many ritualists were burned at the stake and otherwise persecuted. The few that survived taught their lore to whoever was brave enough to listen and so some of the art of summoning survives to this day.

Ritualists were native to Cantha so any law from Elona would not apply. Also Palawa Joko rules Elona and the royal line has been wiped out….
And I’m not sure that Ritualism is something that can just be taught to random people considering it is a form of magic distinct from the magic that the other professions in GW use. It’s ancestral magic and quite possibly has something to do with the strong importance placed on ancestry in Cantha specifically.
They were native to Cantha. But then Elona sent the privateer Captain Morgan and his rum drinking crew, on order of her majesty Verona, and nabbed all the rits. The crusade then spread to everywhere. Fortunately, the Most Interesting Man in the World is so good he could learn some of the rit magic and teach some of it.

Sweet. I must be ahead of the game, since my copy of GW2 has 8 classes.

No, it’s just Rangers are completely superfluous and unnecessary, haven’t you heard?
Remember, remember, 15th of November
In the book Sea of Sorrows, guardian is described as a paragon with teachings of monk e ritualist skills.

How a typo becomes comedy gold.

I have no problem with Rangers , it is my main . I rarely die with him in WvwvW , Spvp, and Pve.

I love my Rit in GW1 and would enjoy playing one in GW2. Maybe as a Tengu if they unlock them as a new race.
PvP Rank – 151 – Dragon
WvW Rank – 1,120 – Silver Colonel
Closest thing you’ll get to Rit in my opinion is a Phantasm Mesmer (also one of the most effective PvE builds in the game for that class
