My suggestion is this; when a person queues solo, they don’t get any rating up or down but when they get into groups higher than 3, they start getting ranked up and down depending on win or loss. If organised teams fight these groups of 3 or 2, they do not move in rank either.
I feel this would alleviate the current “pressure” everyone feels to keep forming teams in order to see their names on the leaderboards.
I only solo q, and I don’t like your idea.

The idea to have a different gain/loss of rank for solo queuers is a good idea but not to this extent. Maybe something like a person solo queuing gains .6 points toward their rank gain if they win and loses .6 for a loss.
That way they arent eternally screwed if they get a bad set of tournies and arent gaining too much for putting in less effort than actual teams.
Im not saying this is how it should be, just that solo queuers shouldnt be denied a chance to rank up but that they shouldnt gain as much for putting in less effort than a teams collective effort.
I agree with the idea to be honest. While we don’t have a soloq ladder this could be a way out to stop the carebearing and/or the need to form full groups in order to progress in the ladder. Or even makes it easier if someone try out a new toon out in tournaments to fill a role or something.
Either that or a way to turn on/off your ratings while you’re solo or with maximum 2 other people…
The guy above me also had a decent idea tbh.
Why not separate the leaderboards for solo-queuers and pre-mades? Seems like a much more viable solution honestly.
