Was just doing crafting and looking at some of the armors i could creat. And then i though why not add the ability to sample the armor designs, Somewhat working as Salvaging but instead of just destroying the items for mats, you destroy it for he design so that you have it “archived” incase you ever whan that spesific design or looks again.

Edit: Though i thought it could work that the design where soulbound or account bind so that they are more like arcived collectables which you can just use a few mats to craft whenever you want that look again. Since this could make so that itemhoarders dont have to clogg up their bank because they like the looks of some items.

That would be really interesting. You could have a chance based on your crafting skill to learn how to craft that on your own.

Add it to a style tab function where when you create a piece of armor you can assign it a style yourself from previously unlocked styles.

Sorry, but no. There are plenty of “designs” where you can only get in specific places/vendors, like dungeons or with karma. It’s pretty easy to get the best gear, everything after that is just purely cosmetic. Your suggestion would make it stupidly easier to get any cool design whatsoever, instead of having to actually work for it.

Nah. It doesn’t have to be like that.

Curently we have discovered and learnable recipes.
You can’t discover learnable recipes. You must get the recipe first, then learn it, and then it’s unlocked for the character.
It won’t matter if someoneelse learns it, you still need the recipe.

So all you have to do is making these recipes also like that.
You will still need the item. If you want to unlock item X as a recipe, you will have to acquire and destroy the item first.
And if you make it a chance instead a 100% sucess, you might have to destroy several ones depending on your skill and the rarity of the item before you learn to do it.

And even then, you could make certain recipes produce only account bound items, so people can only learn them for themselves.
