Guild Wars 2

Hi! I hadn’t seen any suggestion post like this so here goes mine:

I adore collecting the various sets of armor in this game, it really makes dungeon-running epic through playing with friends and having that incentive of collecting full sets along the way and mixing/matching.

However, it’s really frustrating to have to equip each set, piece by piece, without having a way to save a set or so for ease in switching character appearances.

I’d love to suggest a way to save even just one additional armor set. Perhaps having a button next to the Town Clothing in the Equipment [H] window to store this additional set would be best? The second armor option would be strictly for armor for emphasis on the secondary set being for cosmetic purposes, no weapons/jewelry/etc to possibly meddle with current game mechanics.

To be honest, I’m quite surprised that something like this isn’t already implemented as the game for plenty is focused on aesthetic rewards but doesn’t cater to allowing players to quickly change to various sets of cosmetic gear.

Thank you so much for reading my suggestion. Hopefully one day players will have a way to show off not just the same set of armor already equipped, but a secondary set as well for ease of varying aesthetic appearances while wandering Tyria.

I’d like this too. I swap gear constantly depending on encounters and it gets tedious when you have a faster moving group and they pull without you, or start events without you, because you were in the middle of changing armor/weapons. My bags are always a mess, so it’s very annoying to find every single item sometimes, especially weapons, as I swap from 1h weapons to 2h and they get moved around my bags easily.

Not really sure what else to put as this is just a really great idea!

Don’t know if that’s going to happen anytime soon. They want players to buy more bank tabs for those kinds of things. But if they are going to do something like that they’re going to add a PvE Locker, like the PvP Locker which stores all weapons,armours, sigils, runes etc.

Not sure if the suggestion is being understood fully here but at least for me, I have no trouble eventually finding the armor whether in my bank or elsewhere, however I like to mix/match various gears in a specific way. It’d just make life easier in this aesthetics-focused game to have a secondary armor set saved so that players can always quickly show off these secondary sets without having to remember the specific names of each, hunt each piece down no matter a locker or a bag, then equip them.

As far as “buying” goes, I’d be so down with buying this secondary armor-only set to switch to and I’m sure others would be too as who wouldn’t want the option of ease in switching out specific armor sets that are a splash of various gear acquired from a myriad of places?

It just gets to be a ton of hassle when you’re wearing pieces from numerous sets and having to remember names of each set or their icons, and it leaves you unmotivated in wanting to switch gear. Ultimately this process as it stands now ends up a tedious chore in dressing your character up when cosmetic achievements and overall appearance have such significance.

There really should be an easier way to celebrate various blends of armor sets we’ve acquired without having to rummage through bags and bank slots seeking it and trying to recall the tasteful way in which we planned out that specific set on said character.

Yeah, buy the option, buy gear set configuration unlocks in the gem store, anything, just have it be available!

In WoW (hate to even say it), one of the only addons I used was Outfitter, so I could swap gear between 2 or 3 sets whenever I wanted. I had ‘town’ clothes, and random sets that were hard to get, (or such as full tier 3 which no one can get anymore), and I’d swap to them in town. They added the feature finally in Cata, they added the feature to the base game, while not AS good as the Outfitter addon (no hotkey swapping of gear, etc), it was still a nice alternative.

I never used Outfitter but I did utilize the feature to store various outfits (I’m a giant collector of gear, I can’t help myself : ) in said game, and it really motivated me to wear my pretty gear sets I had earned from old dungeons around down. Without that armor save feature and the ability to press a simple button to change wardrobe entirely, I never would have bothered playing more to collect the gear to make those pretty sets.

And I so agree; any way this is implemented, the option would be so welcome. Whether gems or another means, I’m certain many would be so excited to have this feature especially as Guild Wars 2 lauds cosmetic rewards more so than the other game mentioned.
