So, I am a huge Guild Wars fan, been playing Arena Net games forever and a day now. My topic for discussions is this:

Imagine if you are like me and many of others I know who play this game that has to retrait and reskill your character to meet situational demands. Now think of having a favorite option to save your favorite 3 character builds with their traits and utility skills. We already have the option to switch weapons which is awesome. But what I am saying is expand on that. Obviously make this ability something that cannot be used in combat because that would be broken. But let’s say, you die, respawn at a WP and want to try something else because you think it might be a better strategy approaching the situation differently. This is just an example and a rough idea, but I have been thinking about this since a few weeks after starting to play. Obviously, anything beyond those favorite 3, you have to go to a skill trainer to reset your traits and it from there would reset your favorites as well. This being said, maybe make this option available at level 30 or 40 to give players something else other than dungeons to look forward to in the midrange levels. I think it would be useful, tell me your opinions, good or bad.

Please use the search feature, there are already loads of topics about this which are still active with discussions.
But as I said there, it’s something that they are already aware of and have said that it’s somthing that they want to do, but it wont be done untill further down the line when more important issues are worked on

For gen play at mid lvls traits make little difference anyway, it is disappointing you have to pay to change them – it was a breath of fresh air that in gw1 you didn’t have to. Still I doubt ANet think its important, tbh I get the destinct impression we are supposed to be greatfull to be allowed to buy the game and play at all, perhaps not paying a subscription has its down side – they already have your money.

How? Even if we paid for a monthly sub they would still fix more important issues in the game then adding stuff like build templates. They have a limited amount of resources they can spend on each aspect of the game and they are all currently busy working on the things that are coming in 2013 which are already in development. Do you think they would just stop what they’re doing to add every suggestion they get to the game just because we pay a sub? Nope, it’d work the same way regardless

This feature would take no more than a day or two to program and having it work flawlessly. And that could be just one person working on it, not taking away from what important things that they are doing.

No more then a day for one person? Ha that made me laugh. Even if they created it in a day, they have to test it to make sure there are no issues bugs ect

Anet does care, a lot. Infact they streamed a session answering community questions before and explained why they cannot address or explain what they are working on at every given moment. This feature is great, not only because it was in GW1 but because not every build works flawlessly in every situation. There would have to be limits to this such as not usable in dungeons and only when not in combat for X minutes or something. Bottom line, redoing traits should not be exclusive to a starting zones and major cities.

Do you do any sort of programming? It isn’t that difficult, yes it is a lot of coding, but people at Anet, I am sure are far more qualified than I am. It is basically a small built in program with File Edit Save… It isn’t much more than that, just prettier.
