First, I would like to start off by saying that the addition of Pristine Fractal Relics was a great idea. I think that the system could be improved by allowing us to be able to sell the ascended rings that we don’t want to the relic merchant for a few Pristine Fractal Relics. I know there are many people out there getting ascended rings that are completely useless to them due to the wrong stats, so this would allow us to get rid of the rings we don’t want, and would get us a bit closer to the rings we actually do want.

But then people would be happy to receive rare, highly desirable, items that they can’t use themselves. And people who hate running FOTM would be able to get the Ascended items without ever having to step foot in there.

Which is exactly why Ascended gear should be tradeable.

People would still have to do FotM to get rings. This suggestion would allow you to get rid of the rings you don’t want that you got from FotM, and would allow you to get the ring you do want faster. I don’t see where you got not having to step in FotM from.
