Suggestion:
Please allow us the option to re-keybind the action of looting (labelled as “Search” on the pop up window) drops onto a separate button, and not be forced to use one “Interact” button for everything. The action of picking up useable weaponry from the floor could still fall under the category of “Interact” and thus be activated using the “interact” button, but all us to use a separate button for looting drops.

Reason:
It’s really annoying when you want to loot mob drops from the ground, and there are npc’s stood on top of / very near the loot drop locations. You press F and the npc chat dialogue pops up, preventing the npc from actually walking away from the loot that it’s actually stood on. Thus creating frustration for all other players too who are also trying to loot.

I don’t want to talk to the npc’s, I just want to pick up the loot. With a separate loot button, I wouldn’t interrupt the npc doing what it’s trying to do (e.g. continuing with the event).

I also get annoyed on this, so I guess the two keys would be a good idea.

You always continue forward, but there will be curves before you reach the end of the road.

Signed. I hate talking to stupid NPCs with boring flavor text in the middle of an event where stuff is going on and I’m trying to loot as I fight, haha. It’s just like, yes, NPC, I’m aware that something is going on and if you’d stop chatting on the battlefield, you’d notice that I am, in fact, already helping you! xD

Yeah, they changed the order, but if you ash the F key to quickly loot everything around, you’ll end up talking to NPCs and activating interactive objects.

It’ll be simpler if by holding the Interact key for one or two seconds, you automatically looted everything around.

SUGGEST-A-TRON says:
PAY—ONCE—UNLOCKS—ARE—ALWAYS—BETTER.
No exceptions!

I think this is sorely needed, especially in the case of DE’s with lots of mobs to kill.

I just came to the forums to write the exact thing the OP is saying.

Talking with NPC’s can be (play-ability-wise, imo) bound to pretty much any key since you’re generally not talking with them “in the heat of the moment” as you do when you’re looting a lot of the time. So if you have to move your hand away from your “home” position, it’s not a big deal.

Same with reviving/rezzing. ESPECIALLY, imo, the reviving/rezzing people should be able to rebind (actually, I’d suggest for new players it defaults to something other than “F” automatically) since that’s so hard to get out of when you’re getting stomped by 10 mobs and get stuck for that fraction of a second unable to hit your “stability” before you have to hit a movement key to break from rezzing, and * wham *, you’re stunned and then downed next to the NPC who died at the start of the encounter.

And last night I reported a bug — I was trying to loot, hit “F” with a downed NPC nearby so got that instead. But I was “stuck” — no matter what I did (facerolled my keyboard in a panic, clicked every mouse button, alt-tab, etc..) it would not break me out of the rezzing of that NPC…and you know how loooong it takes to rez an NPC. So, of course, I died too.

Or maybe a minor fast change, like allow the use of the same F key to close the unwanted talk dialog, so we don’t have to go for the Esc key.
