Here’s my “problem”…

With a gamma of 1.00, the day looks awesome in game, but the night is just not a night, it’s not dark enough.
With a gamma of 0.75, the night looks awesome, but the day is too dark and looks like an eternal sunset.

My suggestion would be to give us two gamma sliders in the settings, and when you switch to night, you also progressively switch to night gamma. This way, those who like it as it is actually wouldn’t be affect, but those of us who would like a bit more “realism” and immersion could just adjust the setting to their liking.

This would be a really great feature.

The client already knows when it’s night, as the sylvari skin and ghostly weapons will show a different skin and visual effects when that happens, so it should be possible.

Definitely supported. As it is, I run around with 0.68 gamma a lot of the time, and I love how dark the nights get. Everything is so much more atmospheric!

I love this idea. As it stands, I usually don’t even realize when night time comes in the game unless I see my sylvari glow. I’d love the night to be darker. Right now it mostly just reminds me of a cloudy day.

My favorite solution would of course be a “night brightness” slider which is not the gamma, since gamma also affects the User Interface, but a gamma based solution is maybe easier for the developers since it already exists in game.
I really think it’s a rather simple thing to add code wise and it would provide a big immersion improvement for those of us who value that aspect.

That’s a great idea. Currently my day works fine but in some places the night is unplayable as it is way too dark. I’d like to be able to adjust my night separately.
