Server bonuses in PVE for WvW.
People that don’t like, or want to PvP, never will, no matter what “incentives” there might be. Many are server hopping just to complete their 100% maps; not so they can go PvP, but rather to minimize the impact of being forced into it, to complete what they want to.
People that want nothing to do with PvP, shouldn’t ever have to go PvP to accomplish a PvE task. PvPers don’t like their aspect of the game skewed by PvEers bouncing around, and are generally wanting to compete with others of a similar mindset.
Allow non PvPers to complete their maps without having to engage in PvP in any way, and I’ll bet most of that issue goes away. The 2 groups really can exist together as long as concessions are made that don’t require either group to compromise their desired playstyle.
What I am suggesting has nothing to do with forcing PVE’ers to have anything more to do with PVP. It is a way for PVP centric players to be able to stay on a PVE heavy server and still feel like they can be competitive.
With the system ArenaNet has in place currently WvW is a total failure if you’re not on a server that has a lot of WvW focused people.
PVE on every server would be the same as it is now except now that PVE content completion would have stat bonuses for WvW.
I like the idea in general. Imo WvW should be the way servers decide who is “the best” and PvE could feature in some small way. It would definitely give a better sense of “realm pride” as well as a sense of purpose, something PvE is severely lacking at the moment.
HOWEVER, extra special care should be taken that there is no forced PvE-ing which sometimes did happen in WAR, with leaders sending players away to do PvE in order to help out the RvR effort. A WvW player should always be more useful towards winning in WvW than a PvE one. That being said, a server-wide cry “Let’s kill/conquer so-and-so to help our boys and for the glory of the Realm” wouldn’t be a bad thing at all…

I agree with you. To me it only makes sense that since WvW benefits PVE on the server that the PVE should in turn benefit WvW. That way as you say everyone on the server feels like they are contributing to their servers standing and everyone can feel prideful about their server/contribution.
This way everyone gets what they want. WvW’ers get to fight their kitten off while earning benefits for their PVE loving brethren and feel like they stand a chance no matter what server they call home and PVE’ers get to slaughter mobs in dyanamic events and dungeons and contribute to their fellow WvW’ers fun without having to PVP.
Everyone on the server benefits from the contributions from both sides.
It would be up to ArenaNet to work out the details of what those benefits would be for WvW but I’m sure they could figure that out.
