After listening to a bunch of guild mates complaining about accidentally deleting their Wintersday items when deleting old characters, I think players should be shown the inventory of the character they are trying to delete before typing in the character’s name.

Another suggestion from my guild mates after having this happen is to add an option to transfer Account Bound items and/or gold to the bank when deleting a character.

Deleting a character is (usually) a pretty big step, especially if he has been around long enough to pick up an inventory load of goodies. It’s hard to believe someone wasn’t cautious enough to empty out their inventory first, especially if the character has stuff worth keeping. I don’t see the need to program in a safeguard against people who don’t use common sense. Or are you forgetting to mention that your guildies were pretty plastered at the time?
