Chris Whiteside at least admitted that much in the Reddit AMA…

Why not allow Ascended rings to be posted to the Trading Post?

This would allow everyone to easily obtain the ring with the stats they desire. It would also solve the limited availability problem, as many people seem to be getting duplicates…

Just remove the little “Account Bound” restriction.

I’ve done Fractal 10 FOUR times now, with no ring. Just “bags of gold” with ~3 silver each.

I’m really starting to dislike the Fractals (and thus don’t really give a flying cat if I get (infused) versions of stuff).

I mean, grinding the same set of dungeons over and over… While making no progress, because I’m not getting any Ascended gear? I can’t go above 10 because I don’t want to be a burden on my group without infusions.

The whole Fractal experience seems very poorly thought out. I’d be extremely surprised if ANet even properly play-tested the Fractals prior to release.

All I can say is get use to it cause it wont change. this is their attempt to retain players. Grind to the rng dungeon god. This type of stuff will continue to roll out cause it is cheap easy “content” to manipulate.

If Ascended rings were available on the TP they would end up becoming easily obtainable like exotics and people would be left with “nothing else to do” again, as they’ve said in the past. That was the reason the Ascended stuff was put in. When that happens they will have to create yet a new “Transcended” tier or something like that. :P

I guess eternal grinding, or rather, gear “progression”, is part of what an MMORPG is. To most people it seems that if you have nothing to work (grind, like some would say) for to make you more powerful (because, for most people, new content doesn’t seem to be enough if it doesn’t make you more powerful), “there’s nothing to do”.
