Skill point at Meremoot Hills
There are many ways to do this:
- Ask other players to help you if things get challenging for you:
a) A thief, which uses Shadow Refuge to cloak allies, would be a good one.
b) High level players that can kill the monsters for you; possibly in your guild.
c) This location is a part of a chain event; you may come by with a group of players doing this; ask them, others may have not yet gotten that point as well. - If you don’t want anybody’s help:
a) Don’t rush. Level your character and come back if you’re ready or if your character has the skill to enable you to get the points (see 1.a, if a Thief).
If you’re an ele, mist form+arcane shield will get you through the entire channel without getting killed.
Garbage at every profession 2015
I’m aware there are ways to get the skillpoint, including asking your level 80 guildmate to accompany you. However the point of this thread is that the difficulty of getting this skillpoint is off the scale compared to other points of the region and should be balanced accordingly.
I just did this on my Guardian level 31 who is wearing level 0 gear (yes, level 0 gear).
The Champion was up, as well as the Veteran.
My tactic? I ran through the Champion, into the entrance of the cave. I did not aggro the first mob inside the cave. The Champion dropped aggro, but I had ~3 Centaurs on me. I cleared them.
I cleared the first mob in the cave.
I pulled the 2 centaurs closer to me when looking at the Commune. I killed them.
I proceeded to run in and fight the Veteran + 2 more centaurs. I kept the centaurs alive, but low, by constantly applying blind (traited F1 -> blind, GS3, Sword2) to mitigate as much damage as possible. When I went down (which I did), I rallied fast off of one of the two normal Centaurs. I then killed the other Centaur and focused all my damage (and mitigation) on the Veteran. This included a Knockdown, Weakness, more Blinds and one Block.
Once he died, I communed with the skill point.
EDIT:
If I were to do this again, I would use Renewed Focus instead of Tome of Courage, as the Tome is useless in most PvE solo scenario’s (at least, it’s really hard to use properly). Basically, I ran this without an Elite.
My utilities were:
Bane Signet (Plus Power, Activate: Knockdown)
Signet of Judgment (Less Incoming Damage, Activate: Retaliation + Weakness)
Signet of Mercy (Plus Healing Power, Activate: Revive an ally)
