At release there were a lot of good looking skins in the game, and except for legendaries and forged exotics they were mostly pretty easy to obtain. However, since then there have been many updates, and almost every one brought limited edition weapon or armour skins, which often required a lot of gems to be spent on Black Lion keys or buying the skin outright. Due to the way transmutation works at the moment, these are pretty much one time use, meaning if you have a few skins you like for a specific weapon, you need to get the correct stats for each one and keep it in your bank or inventory for when you want to use it.

I suggest a new way of dealing with skins, which is via a skin merchant. When you speak to him you will have the option to give him any piece of gear you have in your inventory. This will be replaced with an account bound skin, which you can then apply to another piece of gear. This will then unlock the ability to buy more of the same skin from him for transmutation stones.

I feel this is the right time to suggest this as there are now unlimited skins available from achievement rewards, and it isn’t a huge jump forward from there to allow all skins the same luxury.

I don’t know about a skin merchant, but some way to permanently save skins you have collected, and to apply them as often as you want to account bound equipment, would be great. As it is now, I have to get a new great sword for every new skin I want, or I will lose my old skin. I really don’t like the idea of having my bank slots filled up with great swords just to save the various skins.

They need some sort of skin saver system.

I’ve already decided not to buy the newest armor from the gem store. I love the way the female light armor looks but I also love the armor I have now. Since I don’t want to permanently lose it, it means I’m not getting the gem store one. If I knew I could save both skins and change when I wanted, I would buy it immediately.

And armor is way too expensive to be buying multiples just for looks. Not too mention storage.
