It’s apparent that the camera control is a bit weird to work with for a lot of people. I don’t normally have a problem with it, but there is one thing that I think would help improve the ease of camera movement. Let me explain my problem first:
Often I want to look up toward the sky to take in my surroundings in the beautiful world of Tyria. However, what happens is the camera sinks, and when the camera hits the ground, it makes an awkward sliding motion toward my character’s head and my character goes mostly transparent, so I have to look through a ghost of an obstacle when I want to look up.
I suggest that instead of the camera sinking to the ground entirely, the camera angle begins to pan up. This way we won’t get some odd sliding motion across the ground and a transparent character.
Why the camera movement hasn’t gotten much attention so far is a mystery to me. Maybe the devs are still brainstorming ideas to make it feel better. Right now the camera only follows the character’s head and that feels awkward at times.
Thoughts?
