Small reward for reporting people?
If you rewarded people for reporting someone, you’d get massive amounts of people reporting everyone in sight, because people suck.
Just enjoy the fact that bots, spammers, and other undesirables will be handled accordingly

And, sadly, they’d be right more often than wrong.
Just spent an hour running around Gendarran Fields—saw 9 bots (including 4 teleporting ones that I’ve been reporting for three weeks) and 12 actual players.
No. Rewards for Reports would create a million reports right and left simply for free cash.
The reward for reporting bots (assuming ANet actually bans any) is that the value of your mats will go up.
OP:
I hear there are some people in Soviet Russia who find your ideas intriguing and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.
I will now close it.” – Moderator

ah yes the definition of gullible……
Protip – never trust a press release post that uses careful wording and selective statistics, just after the peak of product sales (Marketing and damage control). Or when the poster holds no qualification or background in the fields of software security or pentesting yet has the title of “security manager” (aka a scapegoat)
OP played League of Legends and should go back there right about now.

Even under the threat of being banned/suspended for abusing the report function? And why would you report some random person who is extremely unlikely to get banned? You’d get nothing out of it.
But it doesn’t necessarily need to be a copper reward, it could be a transformation tonic, or as I mentioned, a simple message saying “this person has been banned, thank you for reporting them”.
And I can’t enjoy the fact that they’re being dealt with, because I have no clue if they are. I can only report them and hope that they are being banned.
Nobody should get money for reports that turn out true, that can only end badly.
However, to expand on the OP’s idea that we get informed about bans that occur resulting from our reports, would an in-game mail, perhaps once a month, stating the amount of unique account reports we sent, and the amount of accounts that were banned because we reported them might be nice.
To go one step further, have an achievement track in Community that gets incremented for every report that resulted in action, but gets decreased for every false report. Maybe have some titles associated with the achievement tiers, so people can show off that they are a pillar of the community.
I’d rather not get a reward for being a contributing member to the GW2 community. You should do things to help others because it is right, not to see what you can get out of it.
