Since 1 hand sword is NEVER a good damage dealer for guardian (control weapon) / warrior (bleeding function) And possibly other classes,

I would like some smaller 2 hand swords, especially for those warriors and guardians who dont want to wield a super overly huge sword, theirs a begening greatsword, not the one that looks like a claymore, it just has a completely straight hilt on it, its in the same skin subgroup has one of the starting 1 hand swords also (the 1h that has the same no poiinted out hilt guard).

I know this is a weird suggestion and doesn’t add much but i think it will add some variety, Like some of the 1hand swords look huge like the 2 handers, why cant 2 handers of smaller looking ones, im not saying make them look exactly like 1 handers they still can be a little bigger.

We need katanas, naturally katanas were in the 1st gw in an expansion (factions), but the problem was i beleive those were 1 handed which created a problem of making katanas look silly, IMO.

TL;DR Version : A.net …… Please add 2 hand katanas, add more variety to SOME weapons greatswords are ALL almost epicy huge, which is fine but we should have some more leaner ones, their is only 1, 2 hand sword that i really like, its very thin just a long version of the 1 hand sword – But its soo boring its 1/2 of the starting skins for greatswords.

katanas are light weapons. They wouldn’t pierce any armor bar the cloth ones.
And then you’d also have to create animations for light swords. It’d make no sense to swing a light katana like it’s a heavy broadsword.

… Katana’s pierce armor just as well as other two handed swords (ex. long-sword); long-sword’s tend to be a bit heavier though and thus are able to create a better bash if cutting/thrusting fails.

But, yes they would need to create animations for the lighter swords (we have a great kendo group here in Bellevue, WA just a few minutes away from their studio if they wanted some live reference for some techniques).

Maybe in one of the expansions though

a katana can easily pierce armor when used to stab, you’d be hard pressed to find a non “greatsword” that could slash through chain mail, let alone plate mail.
