Just saying… It’s one of those things you expect at launch.

Technically you can duel with the new custom PvP servers.

As for “one of those things you expect at launch” that is quite silly. Especially since there were nothing at all that pointed towards Dueling being in the game (quite the contrary to be honest).

Especially with how PVP heavy GW2 is. I would expect a duel system.

There was no duel system in GW1. If you go with logic, it’s normal there is none in GW2.

They may put a duel system in the game later on, but don’t say you expect it in a MMO just because WoW or another MMO you played had it.

You can duel anyone, anytime in an empty sPvP map (there are always plenty).

This just got way easier with custom arenas, as there are not dedicated dueling servers popping up…

That is easily, easily prevented with a single “Disable dual invitations.” check box.

You have to pay to CREATE and OWN a custom PvP server. There are however LOADS of servers that are already up that focus on dueling.

Hm? There are quite a few MMOs that does NOT have dueling, so why assume this game, where they stated there would be none, would have it?

Calm down, kiddo. The dude wants a dueling system— it’s something that’s common in MMOs; it’s not an unusual request. It won’t hurt you if he gets one, so why get upset?

Personally I’d like to see this. It’s not my absolute highest priority (access to Cantha and Elona = more important than duels!) but it would be nice. Please and tank u.

That is not a correct statement. A single dev said a long time ago in a semi-public conversation during an early beta that they WANT to add support for in world duelling.

Wanting is not saying it will happen. Specially when a single dev makes a statement like that.

Personally I don’t want to see it, custom arena’s and empty arena’s give enough room for this.

Even with the custom arena’s, you have to use PvP gear. What if we wanted to use our world gear?

When custom arenas go public, you can duel whenever you want (most players opened their lobby to the public anyways and have them as “dueling” centers).

Dueling is better done in a controlled enviroment like pvp than out in the open with drastic pve stats (food, boosts, wvw buffs, etc). There are just too many outrageous stats people can get in pve that are limited in spvp. You’re on the same exact playing field in spvp in terms of gear. I don’t see how any disadvantage would be welcomed :/

There aren’t actually many games with an official duel system…most games center around team pvp. I used to have lots of fun with conquer online back when 2dimensional was cool. Nothing like that in the world of 3d though, sadly.
