I don’t mind doing dungeons myself, but the requirement to do 5 player dungeons for these special events is excluding my wife and others that don’t do dungeons from fully participating and earning the holiday titles.

With the player attitudes we have witnessed when it comes to dungeons including the Halloween dungeon, she refuses to do them and she feels ANet is forcing her to do dungeons.

Since Wintersday has already started she knows this won’t help here, but in the future can holiday dungeons be made solo-able?

So you want them solo-able for those that don’t want to take the effort to form a party? It’s like me saying I don’t PVP so I want all pvp-related achievements removed.

Except that he’s not proposing any -removal- of content, just a different scale of it.

As someone who similarly dislikes grouping up with randoms for dungeons, events, etcetera, I made a similar suggestion in the Wintersday boards.

Perhaps having Holiday Dungeons scale to the group would be better, though – if one person goes in, it should be challenging, but soloable, if two people go in, it should be challenging, but duoable, and so forth? (No, soloable and duoable are not words.)

The Wintersday dungeon is very very easy though, so far anyway. If you’re level 80 you could maybe be able to take it alone. Three people definitely works great, two people probably also goes pretty good if you stick together.

I’m not sure if it works with all profession combinations but – my friend and I did manage to complete The Grove’s Wintersday dungeon with 2 people. Ranger & Guardian.
Previously we did the Halloween dungeon with Ranger+Guardian+Engineer.

It would run faster with 5 people (I assume), but it can be completed. None of us are bleeding edge geared either.

I suppose I suggest trying it first.

I dunno about doing it alone, but I know I was able to do it with one other person with very little difficulty with a Warrior + Guardian duo.

I agree that it would be nice to have an alternate means of getting cogs, stuffing and glue. Perhaps they could send us one daily quests that give out only 50 cogs and other parts. Still though the dungeon isnt too hard, I’ve managed to solo it twice as a ranger with little trouble so you and your wife could probably do it as a duo no sweat.

I’ve done the dungeon twice today with a group, but it is impossible to get the wife to join any groups.

I tried it solo with my 80 necro but found the respawn on the veteran skritt to be quite fast and I couldn’t get the oil reservoirs to stay full long enough for me to get past the first stage since I had to take them out constantly.
