Some WvW improvements
1) More Waypoints. One of the most frustrating thing about WvW is getting killed by someone when you’re on your way somewhere and have to start over again, run through the entire map and realise they’re still there. So I suggest adding WPs in every keep for anyone on the server owning the keep to use. Maybe even every tower.
We already have people complaining about downed state in WvW. More waypoints means faster regrouping after being killed. This could mean that if two decently sized groups faced each other, they could end up stalled at that single location until one of them gets bored and leaves.
2) No damaged armour. Once again, getting killed by WvW players is one of the most frustrating things and I’d rather not pay for being somewhat forced to do something I despise.
If you hate being killed that much, why do you go to WvW?
3) Removing any kind of PvP from the Obsidian Sanctum. Yes I’m aware it is a PvP area I’m talking about, but now it just feels like griefing. Most of the time when people are attacking you there’s nothing you can do about it because they either don’t give you any opportunity to attack, standing out of reach, knocking you down or back as soon as you start closing in to attack, or they are 3 against 1 making it impossible to win unless they all suck.
So you want a jumping puzzle in PvP zone, that yields PvP rewards, to be a no-PvP zone? That’s kitten

To be able to get a legendary, which isn’t a WvW item, but it requires WvW

I’m only there for the badges to get my legendary. Which once again isn’t a WvW item.
And yes I know all gear is shared between WvW and PvE, so everything is technically both PvE and WvW gear, but only one armour set (I believe) is specific to WvW.
I also have another suggestion for the Obsidian Sanctum, which is the only JP that has a big problem for PvE players, because it’s the only one where you’re pretty much guaranteed to run into PvPers who will try to kill you.
It is to have one week every year, maybe around the end of august (gw2 release) when the Obsidian Sanctum becomes a neutral zone, giving everyone a chance to get the achievement and the rewards (with or without the blueprints), of course everyone else should also get some special reward during that time, in PvE, regular WvW and PvP.

The idea of the legendary weapon was that (as the name implies, being legendary), you achieved many aspects of being competent within GW2, not just the parts you like. If you don’t like the requirements, don’t get it.
In any event you’re recommendations are not robust and show little insight into WvW. Olba has rebuffed you’re recommendations correctly and accurately.
The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”
Then give me insight. Could any of it be viable? If so, how? If not, why not?
What about my latest suggestion? Could that be viable? What if you remove all the WvW aspects from it? No PvP, no PvP rewards, including badges, which means you just get the achievement. What if it’s just the weekend or even just for one day?
Doing all 4 wvw jumping puzzles every day is fairly easy and if you do it at the right time you can avoid pvp entirely. One of the easiest things to do would be ask in map chat if anyone is porting the jp. If they are, problem solved. If not, just try the jumping puzzle and don’t engage in combat with anyone. Often, players from other servers are just like you and only want their badges. I’ve had players attack me and when I didn’t respond with fighting back, they left me alone.
Adding waypoints would be terrible. If you’re afraid of running back to a puzzle after dying then just get a friend or guildie to go with you to increase your odds or surviving or not being bothered. More waypoints would give a massive advantage to the server that is already winning, making it extremely difficult for the losing servers to ever turn it around. Wvw would also become less strategic and simply be a matter or waypointing every 2 minutes.
Damaged armor? You get more than enough loot from kills to offset any armor repair costs.
I’m not sure about removing pvp from the jumping puzzle. Having pvp there opens uo a lot of potential griefing and typically the players that enjoy jumping puzzles are not the one that enjoy pvp and if they did enjoy both, they’d be even less likely to enjoy both at the same time.
The jumping puzzle seems to be a prime target for griefers because they can screw with the players that want to avoid pvp and aren’t very good at fighting. However, not having pvp in the jumping puzzle would make it way too easy to get the badges and massive amounts of free siege. You get pvp rewards for doing a pvp jumping puzzle. If the pvp aspect was removed then the rewards would need to be toned down a lot also. Having less difficulty should mean less incentive.
Yes I can see what you’re saying. I guess I should try to find a better time to do the jumping puzzle, or just stick with the easy smaller ones.
I appreciate the reply, thank you.
To get your legendary you don’t really need to do much in WvW, period. This would be completely different if precursor or something major was WvW only
1-2, eh, it holds some weight, hence why loot was increased in WvW recently, but 3 is ridiculous, as you said it’s a PvP area.
