Some skills should be ground-targettable

I strongly believe that a large amount of skills in this game should be ground targettable instead of auto-locking into a target as they are currently
Let’s consider a skill like warrior mace 5. This attack is a line projectile that stuns enemies along its path. Currently, it automatically goes toward your target. This has the following issues:
- in pvp, it is very easy to dodge because of the path prediction algorithm being bad a its job
- if you don’t know where your target is exactly, you might fire in an uncontrolled direction
- it is difficult to aim it at another enemy than your current target
- because you don’t know exactly where your target is, you sometimes cancel it by accident (by turning your back to the direction of cast). this actually happens a lot as a A/M warrior, because all your other attacks don’t care about your target and you just cleave around
If this skill (and other well chosen skills) were to become ground targettable, it would give us choices and enable us to land crazy good skills that stun multiple people at the same time, and it would also make it easier to use. It would also enable us to correct for the bad movement anticipation algorithm.
Other skills that could benefit from such a system are “rush” skills (ride the lightning, etc), and I don’t know other classes enough to know what other examples could benefit from this.
on the contrary, engi grenades should have an option to auto-fire on target position (and it would be even better if this happens before I get carpal tunnel)
