When mini pets first came out in GW1 they were all the rage. People wanted them and flashed them out whenever they could.

However in this game I don’t see anyone care about minipets period and for the big reason which is the same reason in the first game; they don’t do anything.

Sure they’re collectible and all of that but spending 300 gems on them just to say “hey look” seam kinda not worth it.

However I had this idea since the first game what if mini came with a perk or mini buff?

Now they don’t have to be OP or game breaking and since you can’t bring them into PvP and since you can only have a max of 5 people per party or dungeon, why not have mini perks for your pets?

Ex. Mini frost elemental -2% chance to cause 33% slowdown when a skill is triggered.

Other ideas would be 2% MF 2% gold find chance to remove conditions. +2% dmg buff to everyone. +2% karma during events.

Small things that wouldn’t change much but are there for extra benefit. and of course the more rare the mini the more +xx or % chance you’d get or specific 1 of a kind sigil or rune or buff. Exotic mini’s could have party buffs as well.

This way there’s more reason to show them or have them out. more reason for people to want them and people to buy them in the gem store for a chance to get the ones they want.

Just a thought I’ve had kicking around since I received my first year mini pet back in 06 that would apply more to this game than the first one.

Would anyone else want a small buff on mini’s?

That’s a good idea…and maybe if each mini had a different bonus would be even better.
I’ve had like 900 gems and thought of buying minipets but instead have gone for something more useful like bigger bank or the extra bag slot. If something like this came out I could feel more attracted to buying them.
And since they’re not that big bonus they would hardly be game breaking for those who wouldn’t want them.

Only if the Minis became Equip-able, in other words you place the mini in the accessory slot, like where the ear ring goes that has the teddy bear image in it…
And Each craft could make at least one or two different minis.

I’ve always loved the mini pets, the only reason i don’t have one out in GW2 is because they are considered a “collectible.” So I always end up sending them to the bank =/. I would love it if they didn’t take up a bag slot and somehow didn’t get sent to the bank.

I have the same issue as maaprid. I am a pet collector (mount collector to).. and having the mini pets take up a bag slot is really inconvenient. Especially every time I use the “Deposit all collectibles” option…. then I’m not using a mini pet again until the next time I pass a bank, should I even remember to take one out.

I to would like to request a change on how we keep our mini pets in our inventory as we travel the world.

If you use an invisible bag, and keep your minipet in it, then it won’t get sent to the bank when you deposit all collectibles.

Honestly, I wouldn’t even need a buff to be more interested in collecting mini-pets. I like the idea of having them go into an Accessory slot instead of one of your bag slots.

Mostly, though, I just wish we didn’t need to purchase gems to get these mini-pets. GW1 was great – they were still rare, but they were more feasible and fun to get. I think mini-pets could be a potential reward for a quest, or an extremely rare loot on some difficult boss (maybe you can only get it once, that way people don’t farm it out or something). Or as a birthday gift, like they did GW1! I just hate how now you have to purchase them with gems.

I wouldn’t mind like a permanent +10 experience per kill buff when you have one out like when you eat food. This wouldn’t take away from cooking since it’d only give the +10. It’d give me more of a reason to have one out. It’d also be a lot better if they didn’t show up on the minimap.

putting in a slot would be unneeded as if you double click it it pops out and runs along with you. It would be the same as eating any food item but it would only be out for as long as you have it out.

Since you only can have 1 out at a time it wouldn’t stack.

There could also be a nice boost if they’re usable in polymock once it comes out.
