I think skill points should be another form of currency or something, fair enoug you can spend them on legendary weapon ingredients but what if you already have one/ dont want one like me? Iv just got skill points stacking up atm

WvW is ArenaNet’s way of blurring the line between PvE and PvP.
It’s one of the various ways they want you to enjoy the game once you’ve reached 80 and unlocked all your skills.

There’s also nothing wrong with saving your points.

It’s highly probably that ArenaNet plans to release new elite skills (especially new racial skills or exclusively WvW skills)

It wouldn’t surprise me to see future uses for skill points besides crafting mystic weapons or legendary components, but I’m not sure about “highly probable.”

Incidentally, even if you don’t want a mystic weapon for personal use, they are a convenient way to turn 3-4g worth of mats into something that sells for 7-12g on the trading post.
