Q:

I LOVE GUILD WARS 2!!! Following are suggestions I would like to see implemented.

1) Make all Soul Bound items Account Bound
—> Precedent: Hero/Wallet panel

2) Make all weapons and armor skins with unlimited use once acquired
—> Precedent: Hero/Achievements panel “Unlocked Rewards”
--> Precedent: Eye of the North Guild Wars 1 Unlocked Rewards

3) Stop making achievements so difficult that it’s not actually fun to play the game
—> Precedent: Guild Wars 1 selection of “Normal mode” and “Hard mode”
--> See example attachment that at least ONE person agrees with this

Trolls may now commence with commenting why this is totally wrong.

1) I concur completely, soulbound items are ridiculous. If I work for an item and stop playing the character, why can’t I use it on my new character?
2) I agree with this as well, especially gem store skins. I bought it, let me use it without grinding/paying for crystals.
3) Well, they are supposed to be ACHIEVEments.

I totally understand why #3 is going to be something that many individuals will disagree with. However, I still think it would improve the game overall, especially for those that don’t play as often.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

I guess I’m just trying to think beyond them making short term money, and rather them making long term money by way of people playing more. If the game is actually more enjoyable, then more people will play more often. (ie, item 3)

Numbers 1 & 2 are purely because it’s unlikely that average players (like me and plenty of others) are going to take the time it requires to manufacture multitudes of Legendaries/farm gold it requires to re-attain a tier 3 cultural armor.

Just my thoughts. Others?

1) Yes to some items, not to Armour/Trinkets/Weapons. Was the same way with GW1 (assuming you customized your weapons to get 10% more dmg). You can still save the skins if you want via transmute stones , which is another reason why I think they will never do this). But items you buy from vendors (like the quaggen tonics) would be nice if they were account bound instead of soulbound. YES to the stupid soulbound runes! Make those account bound if anything please.

2) People have been asking for a PvP like locker for PvE for sometime now. I don’t think ALL skins should go there, but skins and such from limited content (special event skins) absolutely! (while you are at it, make the skins from PvP unlimited withdraws (I know you can redeposit the gear, but what if I have multiple toons with the same armour type…I’m a cloths horse and like to change outfits a lot).

3) No. They are ACHIEVEMENTS, not participation ribbons. You are not forced to get them all (or any for that matter).

Edit: A possible solution to your concern about the availability of Transmutation Crystals (lv80): introduce a formula to make the Transmutation Stones(lv1-79) into Transmutation Crystals (lv80).

Why is this a question post?

1) Some things that are soul bound should be soul bound. Some things should have to be reaquired by a new character, not just hand-me-downed cause you out leveled it, or want to pass it around, like the salvage-o-matic and the harvesters.

2) Any item that was acquired through an special event, and also soulbound/account bound, like most of the back pieces, should be added to the achievement skins list. Anything weapon or armor you acquired through crafting or purchased with any sort of currency should not be.

3) There is only one achievement that is so difficult it’s a ridiculous effort to complete and that is Giant Slayer because there simply are not enough giants in the game that count toward it. All the rest of them can simply be completed by playing the game. You may need to play the game in specific areas, but you can still do it without any special effort beyond what is necessary to compete in the area you are in.

As a completely off topic thing, yeah! Make acquiring the skin unlock the skin in the locker, and make the locker work the same as the hero panel skin thing. So once you have it unlocked you have an infinite number of them forever.

Thanks to everyone that responded. It’s clear that items 1 & 2 are desired, but with added ideas regarding how they could be implemented.

As for item 3, I was thinking about this and came up with a possible solution. Leave the achievements the way they are for the first week of implementation. Then, for each remaining week, taper them in difficulty with a diminished amount of achievement points. That way, people that aren’t all THAT great at playing them don’t have to abandon them, but the hard core players still get the challenge AND the credit for doing them in a harder mode (and let’s face it, the really hard core players play these things within the first six hours after they’re released).

Again, I truly appreciate the responses. Please keep the positive responses going. As for why is this a question post, it’s my first actual thread, so I must have checked the question part from the beginning…can’t seem to turn it off now. My bad.
