Guild Wars 2

I have a priory greatsword that I planned to give to my lower level mesmer. I spent 5 gold on a new priory hammer for my older character and proceeded to give my greatsword skin to my mesmer. I assumed it would be as easy as using transmutation stones since I am not giving this character any advantage over others (only a skin that I earned), however I am not allowed to do this. I cant even drag it out of my bank. What is the reason why I can’t hand down weapon skins like this to my lower characters?

I will understand if there is a logical reason, but if we find new skins for our characters I see nothing wrong with allowing my lower characters to have my old skins.
The skin should not be “soulbound to another character.”

I was wondering about this since I have yet to use the transmutation stones. Now I know. It seems kinda lame as long as the items are all within the same account regardless of if they are soul bound or not since it’s only the skin and not stats etc.
