I think the rate of Spawning needs to be lowered, or become more dynamic. Ie, if the game picks up on a pattern of only one player at time passing through, lower the rate of spawning. I’m really getting tired of going into an area, fighting off the monsters on my way, only to have those same monsters respawning behind me and attacking me as I’m still trying to clear my way. It’s ridiculous. And from what I’ve read, Guild War 1 didn’t have this problem. I’m new to this game, and I come from another very popular MMORPG. But in that game you could clear out an area and then be able to explore properly without having to worry about monsters swarming you as they respawned rapidly. The downside to that was having to sometimes wait a minute or two for a quest monster to respawn, but after seeing the two different styles of spawning, I would much rather be patient and wait that minute or two, versus having to kill and rekill and then rekill again that same monster as I’m trying to clear out an area.
My other issue is the traveling. In the other MMORPG I played you could have permanent passive upgrades to your character that gave up some speed boost so walking wasn’t quite that big of a chore. There were also mounts later in the game as you level up, which made travelling so much better. So far I haven’t seen any mounts, so I’m assuming GW2 doesn’t have them. But the very, very slow rate of travel I believe should be addressed. I know you can stack boons and what not, but that’s not the same as having a passive ability that can always be on and you don’t have to worry about it taking up a spot in your ability slots.
