Ok, so. In GW1 i really enjoyed the big events that came round every so often. So far, in GW2 i have found them…not fun at all basically.
I realise a big part of GW2 is to just ‘go play’ and not have to be lead by quest markers etc. but I feel these do have a place in the big events (more than they do currently). I feel the game enough should be enough to tell you what to (generally) do next. You shouldn’t have to go and look up the wiki for the basic stuff IMO.
In the recent Nov event (as well as the starting event being so full of lag I could barely play) after that it was very confusing what to do next…and even when you started doing that whether or not you had completed. I really think these events would benefit a bit more from slightly more hand holding with better quest markers/chains ticked off (but not being totally spoon fed!).
No doubt I’m about to get chastised with people telling me to just ‘read my mail’ and ‘its easy to figure out’. My point is: maybe you find that. But i don’t. I think for the more casual gamer/player these events are much less fun that they could be. This is a shame, and it’s really putting me off playing the game now.
