Guild Wars 2

I know this has been suggested a thousand times before but it was always mixed with other suggestions as well, and/or the topic title wasn’t as specific, so let’s keep this simple and bumped/signed so the devs can see it.

We need spectator mode for sPVP, it will allow players to become better, learn how to counter builds and even promote the esports scene, you can’t have an esport without spectators! This can work both while dead in a match and of course while outside of it, just like in Guild Wars 1. It could also be used in Dungeons so when you are dead you have something to do

Spectator mode for sPVP /signed
Spectator mode for dungeons /signed

PS: Suggestion names like “My suggestion” or “A couple of suggestions” or “What I want” shouldn’t be used so often, they cause the forming of a needless amount of topics. One topic -> one suggestion with a clear name so we can bump it/discuss it and signed it.

I tend to skim past threads titled “my suggestion” etc because on the few I bothered viewing, they turned out to be useless mounts/raids/gear progression demand threads which have been done to death already with a lot of shouty all-caps text speak gibberish.

Anyway, back to the point, I would love to see a spectate option for PvP in general like GW1. I wasted a lot of time watching these matches in the previous game and it would be a nice addition here too.

Spectator mode would be great so long as you were not in the fight, I have seen modes like this abused. I have also seen people spectator in FPS’s while on Vent/ TS/ Mummble what have you and tell the enemies local. So you see the reasons why not to have it.

So the problem is cheating and abuse as I would love to spectate TPvP and learn some things here and there, the chances for abuse is to great. I believe

That’s true, although while in a fight you don’t have THAT much time to watch anyway. But yes it might be exploited so better leave for out of the fight only.

In Guild Wars 1 they solved any abuse issues by making spectator mode “lag” behind, so you weren’t watching it “live” but instead a few minutes later, so it was near impossible to abuse the feature in any way (unlike in FPS games were spectating is “live” and can be abused a lot)

With a delay broadcast it would be fine I forgot GW1 delayed the feed.
