Except, what if you decide to change the food you want to eat a few minutes in?
LOL, then you just wasted a ton of food as well. It works both ways!
The solution is simple: Learn to do Nourishment checks.
Sometimes you forget to eat, that is normal – Get over it.
Cooking is already a very fun crafting skill for leveling up, there’s no need to make it into an entire profession.

You want a longer term bonus? Change your gear. Consumables by their nature are meant to be transient and 30 minutes seem very generous (a few foods do have 45 minute buffs; a few potions have 60 minute buffs).
Chef is already a very useful crafting profession. I doubt that stacking food buffs is going to do anything to the food market. People who use consumable buffs already reserve several inventory slots and already buy lower-level buffs to save money, depending on how they want to use the food. Increasing the duration won’t encourage non-consumers to …consume.
Also if you gained the food buff from a tray or feasts it lasts 60 minutes.
