So I’ve been playing on my guardian for a bit now, and after doing some escort quests and walking at the npc’s slow pace I have seen that, well, you carry a great sword over your shoulder like a boss. It’s a pretty cool looking stance, and I was all excited that maybe there’d be other nifty little things that you can do like that. So logically I switched to my staff and started walking but you simply carry it by your side...

Anyways, I’ve been wondering how hard it’d be to add an animation to the game where if your staff is out and your walking you’d use it as a walking stick (*cough* Gandalf *cough*). It’s the attention to the small things that got me interested in GW2 and I’d love it if there were cool little things like that.

As would I. When I’m walking on my Ele, she’s resting her staff on her shoulder. I’ve always thought that that wasn’t very realistic. Using the staff like a walking stick would add a more mage-like look. Although, I can see the problem with doing that. It’d essentially require adding a third leg for it’s movements/environment interactions to be correct.

I would love a unique stance option in the game.

Like my guardian holding his great sword to his chest like a knight or drawn back in a piecing stance.

Well, at least this seems to differ depending on profession or race.
Read the first post and was wondering about the staff being held at the side of the character while walking, because I clarly recall my Mesmer shouldering the staff at walking speed. As seems to be the case for Elementalists as well according to FearMeLots. I would have actually expected it the other way around (Guardian shouldering it, cloth/casters holding it at their side), but despite that I would also love the walking animation. There are already a lot of little animations, voice overs and bits of conversation from NPCs you simply pass by that fill the world with life and adding a few more, if possible, would increase that feeling.

I am also still hoping for more emotes, especially since many possible emote commands do not generate error messages when you use them, but simply do not work. That raises my hopes that they are currently in sort of a sleep mode and will be activated sometime in the future. Hopefully. fingers crossed
