I cannot find any information suggesting it is possible to recover the items you start with, meaning the choice of 3 items that every class but ranger gets (4 in the case of Elementalist).
If it is in fact impossible to acquire these armour skins once you’ve deleted them, then that REALLY needs to be fixed.

Level 80 character, really loves the look of their item choice; while transmuting the skin on to a good piece of armour they accidentally click the wrong skin and don’t notice.
Suddenly they have PERMANENTLY LOST that skin for absolutely no reason, with absolutely no justification.

Add another tab to class-specific trait trainer NPCs allowing the re-purchase of these starter items, even if it’s restricted to the choice you made and not allowing you to get the others.

This may seem trivial but it is in fact very significant, there is no reason why you should permanently lose access to something that is considered a part of your character, it’s part of your character’s biography!

Agreed. Accidentally chose the wrong skin when transmuting my demon masque. It was the first time I used a transmutation stone, so I had a little trouble. Now I can never, no matter what, have that masque skin again for my necro character. Really extremely sad because I based all my hair/eye colour/armor/dye scheme around that masque. :-(
Please give me a way to get that skin back somehow~! (Perhaps make the items only account-bound, so I can make a new necro character and steal the masque)

All of our options for our personal story have been recorded in our “My Story” tabs. Maybe ArenaNet could so something like put a button on that tab that mails us our starter item?

Even if it were just as a cash shop thing, it would be nice. On my necromancer, I threw away her starting clothes, only later realizing that they were cuter than any of the garbage she was going to have to run around in for the next 20 levels.
