Steal tool adding suggestions + Exp rewards suggestions
Steal used to be somewhat what you described it should be. It was unreliable and much worse as a profession specific skill. It’s a lot better now, and can be used strategically. However, it still has room for improvement…just not in the manner you’re looking for.
The point of GW/GW2 was never about leveling. Grinding is not how a game should be played. I think the EXP rewards are fine as they are.

I believe there should be either:
- Four separate steal skills you can use and keep as they change:
- Using any of the Steals or Stolen Items would disable the other Steals and Stolen Items for 20 seconds.
- Using an Stolen Item would recharge that slot for 60 seconds.
- Traits would be rebalanced accordingly.
This way you can strategically keep the ones you want for later.
or
- Stealing should get you 4 skills.
- The stolen item, right away, instantly, the same as now.
- A skill that stealths self for couple of seconds starting disabled by 2 seconds.
- A shadow step back to where you were before stealing, starting disabled for 5 seconds.
- An additional shadow step that starts disabled for 10 seconds.
Using one would recharge all, but you’ll get choices after you steal once.
But stealing things like kits or actual weapons would be troublesome. It would be quite hard to balance in PvP (in PvE there’s already items that mimic profession kits and weapons, like the Healing kit some asura sells)
