I’ve played a lot of Kreedz and Hide ’n Seek in CS 1.6 and it was all about the skill, like jumping puzzles and challenges in GW2.
I would love to have some kind of ranking system for the jumping puzzles!
You could really show of your skills in defeating those sometimes pretty frustrating puzzles in no time! This would also add more depth into these puzzles and also make them a lot more social.
Hell, there could even be fansites and guilds dedicated to keeping in track of and beating those records!
What do you think? Would this kind of system make you visit certain areas in the game more and add some more things to do while in Tyria?

i dont think this should be added. jumping puzzles are meant to be fun side things to do. if you change them into competitive things, then it would completely change the “do as you please” model for most things pve.
if you really want competitive jumping puzzles, have them available to be done in the mists. an asuran portal in the heart of the mists that lead to different jumping puzzles or an asuran gate in lions arch that leads towards a jumping puzzle center like heart of the mists is the center for team pvp.

I kinda like the idea. Could be different leaderboards for things like:
- Fewest mistakes (e.g., you never fell off or back tracked)
- Speed runs (i.e., fastest completion)
- Repeats (i.e., most often completed)
Aye, would be nice to see this kind of things added.
I really don’t believe that if the puzzles was “competitive” it would drain all the “do as you please” factor from them.
I think it would actually add more depth and fun into them. I haven’t revisited any jumping puzzles yet except for the LA ones that I do daily. There should be some kind of personal reward for doing stuff like this.
Would be nice to be able to check for example “Oh.. the best time in Sharkmaw is 1min 36,24s, I can definately beat that!”

Why? You can race people in jumping puzzles if you want. You can keep track of all these things yourself, if you want. Just like you can speedrun dungeons and time yourself against other groups if you want, or you can play hide and seek by just offering free stuff to the next person that finds you in Lions Arch.
My point is, you can have all sorts of fun, without A-net giving you a scoreboard for it. If any other players you know are interested in competitive jumping puzzles, why not just get together and do it yourself?
