We all hope we’ll get another class eventually. We’re fans. Its what we do.

Disclaimer: Probably not a chance this’ll get implemented, but i know a few people who always wished there was a 3rd heavy class, and i know a lot that said there wasn’t any niche in the game that hadn’t been taken yet. I think that later group should read this post :P

General Description: A Magic user that tinkers with the fabric of the universe itself. Why wear heavy armor? Well wouldn’t you if you were tinkering with existence as we know it? Seeing as it would be difficult to control it wouldn’t be as precise as some of the other magic users abilities. You cant point at a guy and send him flying. But you can point in a guys general direction and send him and his friends on their faces.

Class Name: Warper (for lack of anything better I could think of)

Class abilities: Lots of CC. We have alot of class abilities that effect the characters themselves but its been highly regulated what moves determine how those people are moved about. I would like to see a class that not only accels in that but also -benefits- from controlling it, and doing something other than stacking close to the nearest guardian(Not saying everybody does that, just saying that’s something i don’t wana see more of).

Trait Lines

1. Time. This speaks for itself. Swift, Quickness, maybe the ability to effect the CDs of allies, enemies, or self. Inturruptions in the form of stuns. Basicly anything a “Chronomancer” could do. Possibly regeneration. Maybe hasten the damage from conditions or lengthen how long they last. Its time, you can do almost anything with it.

2. Space: Teleports, Barriers, things that switch peoples direction.(Imagine an AoE Elite that turns everybody 90-180 degrees). Teleporting people into the air. Ok ok I can see fall damage being bad for balance but still the ideas there. This could also effect movement quite alot(Not just of people but also of projectiles)..

3. Gravity: Pulls. To yourself, To an enemy. To an Ally. To a point on the ground. Improved -heavy damage- leaping abilities (possibly leading to knockbacks). Possibly some boons such as might, stability, protection.

4. Entropy: Chill, Immobalize, Weaken, cripple, bog them down. Strip them of boons. Lower boon durations. Possibly have traits involving torment condition. reduce the time of your own conditions.

5. Synergy: Combining any of the above. Traits would add additional effects onto moves. an Immobilization to a blink. A weaken to a leap. A chill to a stun. Falling into one end of a teleport and leaping out of another.

Class mechanic “Reality bend”: Four abilities each corosponding with the above trait lines (minus synergy). They would all run on -the same- CD. They would be powerful abilities and the CD in turn would be high.
Time: Quickness. What else? yes as a class mechanic.
Space: Erect a barrier. Nothing gets through. anything that tries gets popped out a random spot on the barrier.
Gravity: a Big ol Pull. anything without stability gets knocked on its face.
Entropy: AoE stun.

Weapons- Anything but a scepter.

Obviously, a Chronomancer Concept and the way better name, or better said, its the right term for such a class…

But surely not as 3rd soldier class, forget this!! Chronomancers are Scholars like Elementalists, Necromancers and Mesmers

Its something I’d like to see as a Sub Class Option for Mesmers, they already are partwise in their class desing themed on Timespace with their Skills, which can pull and toss around enemies (Temporal Veil), and speed up the time to let themself and allies attack alot faster than normal. (Timewarp)

So to me it is under this class design absolutely logical and obvious, that if GW2 will hopefully see in future a better character progression through implementing Sub Classes, that the Chronomancer is just one of 3 most perfect fitting options for the Mesmer to specialize, because you can view at Time Magic like being just an alterated version of Illusion Magic (The illusion that something is faster/slower than normal, the illusion that you see somethign from the past… Visions are just illusions of the future that you can see in your mind)

Gravity Manipulation can be seen just as an improvement to Domination Magic (Shinra Tensei anyone xD?) through very high mental forces like Psionics have them or again as an illusion that tricks/bends the reality and shapes one’s victims fate at the will of the caster of the spell. (Izanagi/Izanami Style)

The other two perfect sub class options for mesmers would be the Fencer and the Bard (renaming the same named weapon to The Troubador)

  • Bards = perfect for specializing into the Chaos Magic style of gameplay that buffs allies and at the same time debuffs enemies with Shatters based on Songs/Rhythms/Echoes and Melodies bringing also a new negative conditions into the game – Deafness and Muteness

Deafness: Makes it impossible to receive new Boons while this Condition is there.
Muteness: An Condition, that interrupts automatically and works similar like Blindness, but removes also Boons

  • Chronomancers = perfect for specializing into Illusions & Domination Magic being better Crowd Controlers with AoE Stuns, more Pulls & Pushbacks, receive also a new Condition that is unique to them – Slowness
Slowness = the anti effect of Quickness, reduces targets attack speed by 50%
  • Fencers = perfect for specializing more into Melee Combat as Dualists with improved Mantras for Dual Castings to perform Fusion Skills to perform 2 different effects at the same time with that they can make Fusion Combos. See this as an improvement/specialization into Inspiration Magic/ Fast Casting.
Fencers are more the specialization for players that prefer more to play with Dual Swords and Great Sword and need fast reacting skills that work instantly for Counter Attacks with reacting Mantras, so called Stigmatas.
Fencers get also like the others a new Condition.
Fencers can deal to their enemies the “Apathy” Condition.
Apathy is a form of mental shock state, which empties the Enemies Endurance to 50% and puts an Endurance Degeneration onto the foe. It lets them receive some heavy damage, whenever they use a dodge while Apathy is active. Should the endurance reach 0 while apathy is active, then the foe will receive some bigger damage and gets stunned.
So basically just a negative condition, that punishes mindless dodging… (would require a bit redesigning the dodge system into a % based system that lets us dodge more oftenly than only 2x basically)

Thats the way how I want to see the game getting improved in the future in regard of the Mesmer Class and this basically includes your suggestion here for the Chronomancer Sub Class in a kind of way.

As 3rd soldier class should get implemented the Lancer, a class that should bring into the game the new weapon type of Halberds/Lances to the table.

Personally I like the idea behind sub classes ~ quoted from Chris Whiteside
