Suggestion: Add a dungeon difficulty selection
EXACTLY!…why make the game for just the most elite skilled players. Isn’t it Anet’s philosophy is to make the game where anyone can enjoy without grindfest. Most causal players will have no chance of doing the dungeon let alone the speed run. Why not make a difficulty selection.
I would go for that
Hardcore mode – as it is now, maybe up the rewards a bit.
Easy mode – way less rewards but casual friendly to experience stories ans such.
I have to agree with this. Please give way for PUGs to complete dungeons!
I think this is a great idea and wish I could upvote this idea. Hopefully the devs will read this and consider it.
I agree, make difficulty selection like WOW does The King of dungeons game shows us the way. The DEVs at Anet could take a few lessons from their book. I enjoyed Dungeon running in WOW, I have pretty much given up on PVE outside of hearts and DEs in this game.
This will just provoke more “All the easy, medium, and hard mode dungeons differ in is HP of boss and mobs! Make it better, I have lost all faith in this game! Blah blah generic complaint blahhhh!”"
They already have difficulty settings, and some explorables are easier than others. If you introduce difficulty settings, you set yourself up for the disparity of loot, the gaps therein, and the players and what they feel is best divided into 100 different opinions, just as this thread is.

DDO has a level system for dungeons and while there may be arguments about level balancing for a particular dungeon, everyone loves the flexibility it affords.
You have a easy version already, it’s called Story Mode and you’re able to do it as often as you like.

This, seriously. Was my first thought when I saw the title of this thread. If your PUG can’t finish an explorable, it had no business being in it to begin with.
Indeed, explorable version is for the hardcore pve players, it’s not suppose to be easy, you couldn’t pug heroic DW on wow… actually by now you prob could, but if you’re not a sersious pve player with good skill and a guild to do it with, then don’t attempt them. Just because they are there doesn’t mean you have to do them. Stick with Story Mode untill you’re good enough to do exp. It’s the same with everyone moaning now how they’ve made CoE harder because it was way too easy compared to some of the other dungeons, it’s suppose to be hard!

Im pretty hardcore player and like a challenge.
But when im playing with my gf and another irl friend (not very good players), I want to be able to also have fun in dungeons with them. Rewards can be a different set of armor.

Ok, let’s think about the other side of things. Where is the content for the hardcore players? Explorable dungeons are to easy, as it stands. Perhaps there should be an option for “Hardcore Explorable”, or something like that. In which you would be unable to use waypoints during boss battles; unable to get up a dead ally. And possibly have an extra mechanic on a boss fight.
Well not being able to res a dead ally is never going to happen lets face it. But they’re working on the dungeons, go on facebook and read about people moaning how they have made CM and CoE harder because they was too easy,they’re still working on the dungeons and by the looks of things making exp harder, so you don’t need a hardcore explorable version
