Suggestion: Add various shields for guardians
Any thoughts regarding this?
The Game should offer at least 2 different shield types so that there could be by that different shield skills for Warriors, Guardians and Engineers.
The same way as there exist different bow types, there also exist different shield types.
The game should differentiate between:
1) Round Shields
2) Tower Shields
3) Fist Guards (Fist Shields)
Fist Shields/Guards are normally known for beign less protective, and with them your are more agile and by that can act more offensively.
Round Shields are like the medium thing between Fist Shields and Tower Shields.
Tower Shields are heavy bigger shields with that you are superior in defense, but their weight reduces your attack power by slowign you down. These kind of shields were already used in GW1 by paragons, they used the long tower shields, while warriors used more the typical round shields, but in the game did count both as shields.
But here now in GW2, everything possible should be usede to specialize weapons to give opportunities for new weapon skills to improve the classes with new different gameplay options.
Thats also the reason why I want to see back in GW2 Recurve Bows as a middle thing between Short Bows and Long Bows like they worked for GW1 as the golden middle between the other 2 bow types.
HSields need in GW2 deffinnetely some kind o skill improvement, because most of the shield skilsl of GW2 currently totally suck, they are mostly all overly way to defensive to be good to kill quickly with them something and their skilsl have sadly all way too long recharge times due to shields being al offhand items.
Anet should start to improve the game by changing all offhand items to be used also as main hand items. The choice of the hand being used with an item, should play no matter.
Its totally regardless, if you wield a shield in your left hand, or your right hand, by the choice of which hand is used for the weapon should define, if a weapons main hand or offhand skills should come into the skill bar and limiting certain weapons only to offhand skills is kinda a bad design decision in my opinion
Weapons like Shields, Torches, War Horns and Focus Artefacts need better skilsl that are more effective to kill somethign with them so that you can work on their weapon specific achievements, without grinding eternally for the 5000 kills, where other weapons like swords, gread swords or long bow can be maxed so extreme easily compared to the hsield, war horn or torch ect.

However, so called offhand items would be still limited to be used only once, so no Dual Shield Warriors for example, as something like that siomply doesn’t exist and makes no sense)
Warrior:
Fist Shield Main Hand
Stomping Fist >Shielded Uppercut > Elbow Crush
The auto attack with a Fist Shield is a 3part chain with the first hit dazing the enemy, the second hit dealing bleeding stacks and the last hit having a higher chance to critical hits and if it criticals, the hit will blind the enemy.
Counter Strike Skill 2
Parries an incoming attack quickly and leads into a whirling counter strike attack that will launch the enemy a bit away from you leaving 10 stacks of invulnerability
Recharge: 12 Seconds
Rip Breaker Skill 3
Dash into the Enemy with your Fist Shield dealing an interrupting strike into the rips of the enemy. The Enemy will suffer on Weakness and some stacks of torment.
Recharge: 20 Seconds

Offhand
Chain Shield.
Throws the Fist Shield like a bladed disk bond on a chain towards the enemy pulling you to the targeted enemy and crippling the enemy as also bleeding them.
Recharge: 25 Seconds
Reflective Defense
A defensive Skill that lets you receive for some time retaliation stacks, while you receive hits. So more hits you gain in that short time, so higher raises the retaliation stack duration.
Recharge: 30 Seconds
So and Skilsl here for both hands combined with a Round Shield in usage for example would be more a hybrid mix of damage/support
Whiel for example a warrior with a tower shield would be far better in self support and control … but lacks then definetely in damage dealing therefore.
But all kinds of shield types should count towards the Shield Achievement.

Either anet should do thi,s or they should definetely buff the offhand shills to that it becomes easier to kill somethign with them and that without having to wait for long due to too long recharge times.
Those weapons are lacking in offensive skills with auto attacks so that you can use them for quick killings …
Thats my thoughts about how this game has to improve thigns around the shields and other offhand items that share the same problems sadly.
