Like the title says I believe that making the ascended gear based off 1 in game system is a huge fail. Talking to many friends who play and have quit gw2, most I have talked to agree with me.

If you want to add gear progression (which you said you wouldn’t). You need to add it to all end game systems. I personally think the dungeons in this game are the worst ever. I love the outside world PvE. It is fantastic but you will never catch me in a dungeon for any reason but to help my guildies. (actually you wont find me at all I stopped logging in weeks ago).

Ways you should be able to obtain Ascended Items:
1) Fractals (the only way currently)
2) WvW Badges.
3) Karma. Even if its 1 million karma.

This is a suggestion thread so I have decided to write what I believe would make the gear grind more fun. (since you indeed added a gear grind)

If this happened I would 100% play this game again. Thanks for reading.

They have already stated that you will be able to get Ascended Gear outside of Fractals, including WvW.

ad 3) i’d say 100k karma per piece would be more sensible
4) Crafting (one that preferably doesn’t include hundreds of t6 mats/ectos/fractal relics or RNG drops from fractals 10+)
5) PvE drops – in normal PvE areas, event boss chests (dragons?) etc.
6) current dungeons – either update current dungeon sets to ascended, or add ascended to dungeon token vendors
7) TP (so, at least some of the items – PvE droppable, craftable, fractal droppable should not be account bound on acquire)
8) Cultural armor imo should also be made ascended tier.

I dont think people should get ascended gear for badges or karma since you would be able to buy the gear that is best suitable for your build. The drop chance as for now is extremely rare for ascended gear and even if you drop a piece it wont match your build in 90% of all cases. Additionally WvW player dont need +X agony.

So instead of letting people buy asceded gear i’d prefer one of those options:
1) Adust ascended gear in WvW areas (so it matches exotic —> percentage decrease)
2) Adust exotic gear in WvW areas (so it matches ascended --> percentage increase)
3) Let people buy completely new gear using badges / karma or whatever WITHOUT agony at all (maybe upgradable by 5000 ectos -sarcasm inclused-)

I dont think i’d be fair towards pve player if wvw player would simply be able to buy agony stuff without even doing one piece of work. And since they dont pve they wont need it anyway.

I did, i just don’t agree with it. What you see as a problem, i see as a good thing.

Well if Anet keeps their promises (something that got a similar % to happen like a meteor hitting a human) , they will add top stats gear to many kinds of game play. Or so they said.

Basically it will happen if we get lucky.
